On November 16, in Lang Son , the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Lang Son province held a ceremony to announce the export of the first batch of Vietnamese bird's nest products to the Chinese market according to the protocol signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Administration of Customs of China on November 9, 2022.
The first ready-to-eat bird's nest jar product was exported to China.
This shipment of bird's nests belongs to Avanest Vietnam Nutrition Joint Stock Company. This is the first enterprise to be granted an export code by the General Department of Customs of China with 2 product groups: refined bird's nests and ready-to-eat bird's nest jars.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that the ceremony to announce the export of the first batch of Vietnamese bird's nest products to the Chinese market marked a particularly important event for the Vietnamese agricultural sector in its efforts to promote agricultural exports. This is also an important milestone for the Vietnamese bird's nest industry.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that the successful export of bird's nest products to China opens up many opportunities for the bird's nest farming industry in Vietnam.
According to the leader of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, China is one of the most potential markets in the world, with a population of more than 1.4 billion people and a huge demand for bird's nests and bird's nest products. China officially allowing the import of bird's nest products from Vietnam will create great opportunities for Vietnam's bird's nest farming and production and processing industry.
The first shipment of Vietnamese bird's nest exported to China
According to the Department of Animal Health, in Vietnam, commercial bird nest farming is a new production activity that has appeared since 2004 in some southern provinces. In the past 10 years, this profession has developed rapidly with many different types and scales. Many provinces and cities have natural advantages to develop bird nest farming, creating jobs and significant income for people. Currently, 42/63 provinces and cities nationwide raise bird nests with over 22,000 bird nest houses. Vietnam's bird nest output is about 200 tons, worth over 600 million USD.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien called on businesses and households raising swiftlets to strengthen their connections, invest in and develop their flocks; increase the application of new technologies, explore and research to produce many types of bird's nest products to meet the needs of the domestic market as well as exploit the potential and opportunities of the Chinese market that the protocol has opened up.
