Ms. Nguyen Thi Dinh (March 15, 1920 - August 26, 1992), also known as Ba Dinh, was born in Luong Hoa commune, Giong Trom, Ben Tre , in a farmer family that participated in the anti-French movement.
In 1936, under the guidance of her brother Nguyen Van Chan, she began revolutionary activities, calling on the people to rise up against the oppression of the colonial regime. In 1938, Nguyen Thi Dinh was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party.
During the August Revolution in 1945, she led the people in Ben Tre to seize power. After the country's reunification, she continued to hold the following positions: Member of the Party Central Committee, terms IV, V, VI; Delegate of the National Assembly of Vietnam, terms VI, VII, VIII; President of the Vietnam Women's Union. From 1987 to 1992, she held the position of Vice President of the State Council. Major General Nguyen Thi Dinh passed away on August 26, 1992.
