In addition to commemorating the end of a world war that caused countless pain and loss to humanity, the resolution emphasized that this historic event created the premise for the establishment of the United Nations with the aim of preventing the disaster of war for future generations and establishing principles to regulate relations between nations, promoting the decolonization process.

The UN resolution also called on countries to make efforts to address challenges to international peace and security, not to threaten or use force to violate the independence and territorial integrity of any country, and to resolve all disputes by peaceful means in accordance with the UN Charter.

Vietnam is one of the main co-sponsors of the Resolution and strongly supports the main contents of this document.

The end of World War II in 1945 marked an important turning point, opening up a favorable opportunity for the Vietnamese people to carry out the great August Revolution, ending nearly a century of colonial and fascist domination, transforming from a semi-colonial feudal country into an independent nation, a symbol of success and a source of encouragement and support for the national liberation movement and the decolonization process worldwide, affirming the indomitable and resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people for independence, freedom and development.
