Receiving Lao Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang on the occasion of the end of his term, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that Vietnam always supports Laos 's renovation process.

On September 20, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly received Lao Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang on the occasion of the end of his term of office.

At the meeting, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang sincerely thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for taking the time to meet him. The Ambassador appreciated the General Secretary's comments and expressed his gratitude for the great and effective support and assistance that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have given to Laos so far, as well as the ministries, departments, branches and localities of Vietnam that have always created favorable conditions for the Ambassador to successfully complete his assigned tasks.
