According to the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam (KTO Vietnam) under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea, Vietnam is the country with the 5th largest number of tourists to the "Land of Kim Chi".

Specifically, in the 11 months of 2023, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea reached 386,921, equal to 74% compared to the same period in 2019 and an increase of 39.7% compared to the same period in 2022. In the whole year of 2023, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea is estimated at about 420,000. With this number of visitors, Vietnam is the 5th country with the number of tourists to Korea and the leading country in Southeast Asia in the number of tourists to the "Land of Kim Chi".
According to KTO Vietnam, in 2023, with the goal of attracting 10 million international tourists, the Korea Tourism Organization will implement many activities to diversify the Korean tourism market. In addition, implementing the Visit Korea Year 2023 - 2024, the Korea Tourism Organization has made active marketing efforts to mid-range markets such as Southeast Asian countries.
On the other hand, Mr. Lee Jae Hoon, Chief Representative of KTO Vietnam, said the number of Korean tourists to Vietnam is estimated to reach about 3.6 million this year, making Korea the country sending the largest number of visitors to Vietnam.
Mr. Lee Jae Hoon emphasized that in order for Korean tourism to quickly recover to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels, Vietnam will always be the leading market for Korean tourism in Southeast Asia, the friendship between the two countries will become increasingly strong, developing together not only in the field of tourism but also in culture, economy, and politics .
In 2024, along with activities within the framework of Visit Korea Year, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) plans to focus on promoting the "Top 100 most attractive tourist destinations in Korea"; opening "K-Tourism Roadshow" events to introduce the attractiveness of Korea in major cities around the world , including cities in Vietnam.
On the other hand, KTO will enhance the competitiveness of Korean tourism through local product development activities - linking with local airports, searching and discovering Korean tourism content. The tourism topics that KTO is focusing on promoting include: local tourism, special experiences in Korea (SIT), luxury tourism./.
