Busan Mayor Park Heong Joon highly appreciated VFDA's contributions to the development of Vietnamese cinema, especially in the successful organization of the recent DANAFF.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF-29) was held from October 2-11 in the port city of Busan, South Korea.
According to the VNA correspondent in Seoul, attending the Busan International Film Festival this year, the Vietnamese side has Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan, President of the Vietnam Film Promotion Association (VFDA), former Director of the Department of Cinema - Head of the delegation; Director of the Department of Communications of the People's Public Security (CAND) - Ministry of Public Security , Major General Do Trieu Phong; Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, Mr. Tong Quang Thin; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang city, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi; Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong; Vice Chairman of VFDA, Ms. Le Minh Tam; director Phan Dang Di, film producer Tran Thi Bich Ngoc; and many leaders of departments, branches, sectors, filmmakers...
Within the framework of the Festival, VFDA coordinated with the People's Committee of Da Nang city, Ninh Binh, Phu Yen, Quang Ninh provinces and member companies of VFDA to open the Vietnam - Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) booth at the Asian Film and Content Market (ACFM).
Booths introducing Vietnam's scenic spots in the three provinces and Da Nang city for 4 days (from October 5-8) aim to promote and attract international investors through BIFF.
Previously, at the opening reception of the Busan International Film Festival, Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan gave a speech introducing the development of the Vietnamese film industry as well as DANAFF.
She expressed her admiration for the Busan International Film Festival Organizing Committee's tireless efforts in contributing to making Korean cinema one of the most developed Asian cinemas in the world , successfully building and promoting the country's film industry.
On this occasion, Head of the delegation Ngo Phuong Lan, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho and members of the Vietnamese delegation met with Busan Mayor Park Heong Joon to share experiences in finding opportunities to develop the Vietnamese film industry.
At the meeting, Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan emphasized that in 2025, DANAFF III will open a project market for the first time, a starting point to support and foster young filmmaking talents from Vietnam and Asia. DANAFF is making efforts to connect with investment funds and entrepreneurs to build a talent support fund.
This will be a new point to support young filmmakers to soon realize their films. In addition, within the framework of DANAFF III, the Organizing Committee plans to highlight "Korean Cinema" through introducing some excellent Korean films, exchanging and sharing experiences in developing successful Korean cinema and awarding the "Film Achievement Award" to an outstanding Korean director.
Mayor Park Heong Joon highly appreciated VFDA's contributions to the development of Vietnamese cinema, especially in the successful organization of the recent DANAFF.
Mayor Park Heong Joon expressed his hope that VFDA will be a bridge between Korea and Vietnam in promoting film production cooperation, bringing out many creative ideas to promote the development of film and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
BIFF, held annually in Busan, is one of the most famous and important film festivals in Asia. This year, 224 films from 63 countries and territories participated in the event.
The opening ceremony of BIFF was held very excitingly with the participation of 4,500 guests including actors, directors, and film producers from Korea and many other countries./.
