Opening the working session, Mr. Trieu Tang Lien emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and there have been many important events and commemorative activities. The fact that Minister Tran Duc Thang and the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment visited and worked with Chinese partners this time shows the effective cooperation between the two countries; including the cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and GACC.
Mr. Trieu Tang Lien informed that two-way agricultural trade in 2025 has many bright spots. By the end of October 2025, China had imported 8.7 billion USD worth of agricultural products from Vietnam. The above results show the close cooperation between the two sides, as well as the support and connection of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.
Mr. Trieu Tang Lien also affirmed: China always attaches importance to trade with Vietnam and is ready to open its doors to quality agricultural products from Vietnam.
With functions related to quarantine and market opening, GACC will strive to realize the common goals that the leaders of the two Parties and two States have achieved in the past time.
This year, the two sides have signed four protocols on the export of chili, passion fruit, rice bran and raw bird's nest. Today, the two sides will sign a protocol on the export of fresh jackfruit from Vietnam to China, which will create new momentum in the development of agricultural trade between the two countries, Mr. Trieu Tang Lien shared.
On the Vietnamese side, the Minister expressed his pleasure in working with GACC and affirmed that the cooperative relationship between the two sides has always been strengthened in recent times.
According to Minister Tran Duc Thang, the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State always pay attention to strengthening and promoting cooperation with China in all fields, especially agricultural and environmental cooperation.
With the figures on two-way trade turnover in recent times, Minister Tran Duc Thang affirmed that China is a very important import-export market for Vietnam. Statistics on import-export turnover in the first 10 months of 2025 between the two countries were higher than the total for the whole year of 2024.
From the perspective of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Minister Tran Duc Thang said that cooperation with China in industry-related fields needs to be given more attention and promoted in the coming time.
In addition to import-export cooperation, Minister Tran Duc Thang also said that the two sides need to promote investment, especially since the two countries have border advantages, which is very favorable for trade and investment.
Minister Tran Duc Thang also thanked GACC for its coordination and facilitation in signing the Protocol on fresh jackfruit export today.
Also within the framework of the working session, Minister Tran Duc Thang and Mr. Trieu Tang Lien exchanged some more professional contents related to the import and export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products between the two countries.
Fresh jackfruit is a traditional product exported to China, now standardized by protocol. This protocol not only opens up opportunities for official export of fresh jackfruit, helping to minimize risks in the trading process, but also affirms the reputation, quality and ability to meet the strict standards of the Chinese market for Vietnamese agricultural products. This will promote the expansion of planting area, application of good agricultural practices (GAP), increase added value and income for Vietnamese farmers.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the export turnover of fruits and vegetables in the first 10 months of 2025 reached 7.09 billion USD, an increase of 15.1% over the same period in 2024; of which, the Chinese market accounts for the largest proportion at 62.9%. This result is creating a solid foundation for the fruit and vegetable industry to aim for the 8.5 billion USD export mark in the whole year of 2025.
