According to VNA reporters, in Ham Tien 1 neighborhood (Mui Ne ward), the sea level rose, many waves continuously hit the embankment along the coast. The peak was at 10 p.m. on November 27 and lasted until 1 a.m. on November 28, the waves continuously hit the shore with stronger intensity, sometimes reaching 4-5 meters high. More than a dozen shops and tourist service establishments in the sea embankment area had to move their tables, chairs, and property to the other side of Nguyen Dinh Chieu street to ensure safety. At restaurant No. 179, Nguyen Dinh Chieu street, 4-5 meter high waves continuously hit, damaging the restaurant's wooden fence. Seawater overflowed into the restaurant and spilled onto Nguyen Dinh Chieu street.

According to local people, the phenomenon of big waves and strong winds has occurred in the past 2-3 days, but today the waves are extremely strong. People had predicted this and built a breakwater with sandbags to reinforce and protect their shops, but the big waves swept everything away. Big waves will continue to hit the shore until about 3am the next morning.
The People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward has sent forces to stand guard, set up warning ropes in dangerous areas, and assist people in moving their belongings to safe places. At the same time, it has warned of dangerous areas and high waves so that people can proactively move their belongings elsewhere.

Present at the scene to direct the work of supporting the people, Mr. Tran Hai Anh, Vice Chairman of Mui Ne Ward People's Committee, said: Due to the bad effects of the weather causing big waves, a section of the sea embankment in Ham Tien 1 neighborhood has been seriously damaged and eroded. Specifically, some locations have eroded the foot of the embankment, the concrete structure of the embankment roof has collapsed, causing structural instability and risking direct impacts on households, service businesses, tourism and infrastructure in the area with a damaged embankment section of about 150m long. Mui Ne Ward People's Committee has mobilized local forces to protect the scene and temporarily reinforce the eroded area, and at the same time requested households and service businesses to relocate assets and belongings in areas at risk of further erosion.

According to the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward, the current situation of damage and erosion of the sea dike system continues to be complicated, with the risk of spreading, especially in the coming time when storm No. 15 is forecast to directly affect the sea area of Lam Dong province. In order to promptly respond and protect the coastal area, the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward requests the People's Committee of Lam Dong province to consider directing the Department of Agriculture and Environment and related departments and branches to urgently inspect the current status, assess the level of damage of the sea dike system in Ham Tien 1 quarter and propose to the People's Committee of Lam Dong province to carry out the policy of repairing, reinforcing, and rebuilding degraded and eroded dike sections as soon as possible (recommending investment in emergency construction works according to the provisions of Article 130 of the Construction Law 2014, amended and supplemented in 2020).

In the long term, it is recommended that the Provincial People's Committee consider and approve the investment policy to build a new coastal protection embankment system in Ham Tien 1 quarter, Mui Ne ward (with a length of about 500m) to limit erosion and protect the sea area in the area.
