“I remember the name of a famous book that was once a global bestseller: 'Life is too short, don't sleep too long' . Every passing hour is precious - you need to take advantage of your time to enrich your knowledge,” Journalist Phung Cong Suong told the students at the end of the exchange.

He expressed his appreciation for the students' efforts in studying and training , the care and support from the school, family, teachers , as well as the significance of international educational programs such as AIMO:

“The recent exam in Japan is a clear answer: 22 Vietnamese students participated, all 22 won medals. We are completely confident to stand side by side with the intellectual powers of the world .”

Journalist Phung Cong Suong also provided initial information about the possibility of Vietnam hosting the AIMO 2026 final round . The organizing committee is working with relevant parties to select a qualified host location. “If that becomes a reality, it will be an honor and a great opportunity for Vietnamese students to assert themselves right on their home turf,” he said.

In addition to recognizing outstanding individuals at AIMO 2025, Mr. Suong said that Tien Phong newspaper will propose that the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund - where the newspaper is the permanent agency - award certificates of merit to students who won medals at this year's final round.

“The Vietnam Young Talent Fund was established in 1994, and the Honorary President in each period has been the Prime Minister. Every year, Tien Phong newspaper organizes a vote for 10 outstanding young Vietnamese faces - including those in the fields of study and scientific research.”

Journalist Phung Cong Suong also emphasized that in the coming time, Tien Phong newspaper will continue to organize science and technology playgrounds for young people, such as the Science and Technology Admissions Festival in collaboration with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology , or Robotics, AI and STEM competitions - fields closely related to mathematical thinking.

“We hope that the students who won medals at AIMO 2025 will continue to participate, spread their passion for Mathematics and technology, and contribute to building a high-quality human resource team for the country, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Central Committee.”

report Vietnamese student parents at AIMO 2025: “I am proud and cannot forget this wonderful experience!”

Although her child only won the Silver Medal at the AIMO 2025 Math Competition, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Bich - mother of student Kieu Le Minh Dat (grade 7, Western Hanoi School) - still choked up and shared: "This is not the highest achievement, but it is the journey that makes me most proud."

parent.jpg

Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Bich

Ms. Ngoc Bich said that Minh Dat is a student who loves Math and has participated in international competitions many times, but AIMO 2025 left her with unforgettable emotions:

“Last night, despite being late and tired after a day of competition, the children still gathered around to play chess, play musical instruments, and laugh. They were so innocent, lovely, and passionate. As a parent, I feel extremely fortunate to have accompanied my children through dozens of exams, but this experience at AIMO was especially profound .”

She also appreciated the academic nature and challenge of the exam:

“The AIMO exam is entirely in English, with an unpredictable and somewhat surprising structure. This year, the exam has 3 geometry questions in the highest scoring section – without good English skills and thinking, translating the exam would have been a big challenge. The students had to pass the preliminary round and the national round before entering this international playground.”

The deepest impression for Ms. Bich was the moment when the entire group of Vietnamese students witnessed the Chinese group traveling on 21 buses :

“At that time, we just thought ‘wow’ – and were a bit worried because this year’s AIMO was too competitive. But when the results were announced, the whole group burst into happiness because the children had performed very well, not inferior to their Asian friends, but also confidently affirmed the position of Vietnamese students on the international Mathematics map.”

Too impressed with the exam, Ms. Ngoc Bich expressed her wish:

“If Vietnam hosts AIMO next year, I would like to volunteer for the program to continue to have more wonderful experiences with my children.”

report Sharing of "village teacher" about AIMO

Teacher Dang Minh Tuan , Lecturer at the University of Education (VNU Hanoi), Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO in Vietnam, Coach of the Vietnamese AIMO team, opened the sharing session, claiming to be "a village teacher".

thay-giao-lang.jpg

Teacher Dang Minh Tuan

“I work with all my heart for the success of my students; always try to spend every moment possible for my students. Because I know that, whether we are rich or poor, whether we are born into a family with economic conditions or not, we all have the same asset: we have 24 hours,” Mr. Tuan expressed.

Mr. Tuan said that when working with students from elementary, middle and high school, he always tells them "even if there is only one minute left, you should make the most of it and focus on improving your own abilities". If we try our best and focus on our work, our results will be good. The students attending the program here are a great example of that.

According to Mr. Tuan, before the exam, he prepared materials for each grade and each child. In particular, he changed the way of learning, from the method of students taking notes of what the teacher taught, to the "blended learning" method. With this method, students are given materials according to each grade, according to different topics to actively practice. After that, Mr. Tuan spent some time discussing and resolving difficulties and obstacles; as well as discussing difficult issues.

Change the way you learn, take advantage of technology

Seeing Tuan emphasize, time is limited, the children are very busy and the teacher is also very busy. If we do not know how to use time wisely and reasonably, the effectiveness will not come. In the present era with the development of modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, basic tasks or basic learning methods, just remembering concepts... are no longer meaningful. "We have to change the way we learn, approach and use it to be most effective", Mr. Tuan affirmed.

Students participating in the AIMO exam – a math exam in English – is an opportunity to promote their thinking, math and foreign language skills to a new level. At the same time, the competition also provides a “fair” playing field for students. “No matter what region you are from, you all compete with each other on the AIMO playground,” said Mr. Tuan.

On this occasion, Mr. Dang Minh Tuan sincerely thanks the consensus and support of the press and media agencies, Tien Phong Joint Stock Company and Tien Phong Newspaper. At the same time, Mr. Tuan hopes that the media agencies will spread the spirit of serious work, make the most of time and use time effectively, from studying to teaching to the community and society.
