Vietnam and Azerbaijan "shake hands" to promote cultural exchange cooperation

The Memorandum of Understanding on cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, signed by Minister Nguyen Van Hung and Azerbaijani Minister Adil Karimli, was just signed before the end of the State visit of General Secretary To Lam to Azerbaijan.

Accordingly, the two sides will prioritize coordination to promote cultural cooperation through exchanging experiences and information on cultural policies and cultural industries of each country; organizing cultural days to introduce culture and art and organizing exhibitions and art performances in each country; promoting cooperation in the fields of conservation, research and restoration of cultural heritage, libraries and publishing; copyright and related rights.

In addition, the two countries will increase mutual support in participating in international book fairs, festivals, literary competitions, international music , art, dance, theater and film festivals hosted and organized by each country; establish cooperation between cultural and art institutes as well as museums, libraries and theaters; exchange students, researchers and teachers between educational institutions in the field of culture and art and organize conferences, seminars and talks on culture and art.

In the new situation, cultural exchange and cooperation are identified as an effective bridge to foster the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan.

Implementing the signed Memorandum of Understanding, at the end of May 2025, on the occasion of Azerbaijan National Day, the Vietnamese side plans to coordinate with the Azerbaijan Embassy in Hanoi to organize an Azerbaijani art program.

Then, in July 2025, Vietnam Day in the capital Baku, Azerbaijan is expected to be held to introduce tourism, screen Vietnamese films, introduce Vietnamese cuisine with traditional dishes, organize an exhibition of Vietnamese products...

Azerbaijan is a country with a rich culture with rich painting, architecture, cuisine and music. Therefore, the cultural cooperation between the two countries implemented on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding continues to open up prospects for Vietnamese people to explore the unique culture of Azerbaijan, as well as for Azerbaijani people to learn about the impressive culture of Vietnam.

The Vietnam-Azerbaijan cultural cooperation memorandum signed is an important legal basis for the two sides to strengthen cultural exchange relations, opening up a new direction of cooperation in culture and arts worthy of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan strategic partnership established during the visit of General Secretary To Lam - the first visit to Azerbaijan by a General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, contributing to the overall success of General Secretary To Lam's historic visit./.
