The Vietnam Green Day 2025 officially opened on the morning of November 15, continuing to become a meeting point for businesses pursuing sustainable production, providing opportunities for consumers to directly experience green products and models currently present on the market.
This is also an annual activity within the framework of the Green Vietnam project organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam) and accompanying units.
Businesses transform, consumers change behavior
Mr. Wei Nguyen, former Head of Communications at Annam Gourmet, recalled that in 2018, when the chain decided to eliminate single-use plastic bags and replace them with paper bags with a fee, many customers reacted strongly.
Yet after six years of persistence, more than 9.4 million plastic bags have disappeared from the system. The packaging collection program alone, launched in 2023, has collected 120,000 plastic bottles, cans and 17,430 glass bottles for recycling.
Ms. Gia Han (formerly residing in District 3) said that she is more sympathetic to businesses that make efforts to protect the environment in production and operation, so she often prioritizes choosing their products. She is also willing to pay for products with environmentally friendly packaging if the price is suitable for her ability.
Ms. Han added that many of her Gen Z friends also favor brands that are committed to sustainable development, prioritizing recycled and reusable packaging or operating models that use clean energy to reduce emissions and save resources.
The 2024 survey results on "Waste classification at source in Vietnam" conducted by PRO Vietnam in collaboration with TGM showed that up to 68% of young people aged 15 - 24 expressed interest in sustainable consumption.
Mr. Nguyen Gia Huy Chuong, General Director of PRO Vietnam Packaging Recycling Joint Stock Company, said that if in 2023 the unit collected and recycled 13,000 tons of packaging, by 2024, this number would increase to 64,000 tons.
Tuoi Tre's records show that many "leading cranes" in the consumer goods industry such as Vinamilk, Duy Tan Recycling, Vinasoy, Saigon Co.op ... are continuing to promote technology, apply solar energy, develop recycled materials and gradually deploy circular production models.
Not only large corporations, start-ups and small businesses themselves also choose the green path, bringing to the market environmentally friendly products and business models. The common point of this force is the desire to contribute to the sustainable development of society, together building a green Vietnam.

Initiatives introduced at Green Vietnam Day 2025
Ms. Bui Phuong Thao, Sustainability Director of AirX Carbon, said that after attending the Vietnam Green Day 2024 and being honored with the highest position with the title "Green Startup Star" at Start-up Award 2024, AirX Carbon has received great attention from the business community and organizations operating in the field of sustainable development.
"This Green Vietnam Festival helps us reach many potential partners, including those who have become trusted customers and accompanied AirX Carbon to this day," Ms. Thao shared.
As of the fourth quarter of 2025, AirX Carbon products have been exported to more than 15 countries, including markets with high material and environmental standards such as Germany, Australia, Canada, the United States, Japan, South Korea and many Southeast Asian countries.
At the Vietnam Green Day 2025, AirX Carbon will continue to introduce many new initiatives from agricultural by-products, such as NetZero Pallet and cups made from coffee grounds, and experience the biomaterial production process right at the booth.
Familiar brands to consumers such as TH True Milk, Orion... are also confident in introducing green, delicious and healthy products to customers. TH True Milk representative said that on this occasion, the company will introduce a closed production process applying advanced green farming and processing technology, to ensure each milk product is clean, pure and completely natural.
Along with that, TH True Milk launched two activities to encourage green consumption and recycling. Participants only need to bring 20 milk cartons to receive a lucky draw with gifts such as canvas bags, TH milk cartons, Inochi food boxes, glass boxes or bamboo towels.
Or with Orion Confectionery Company, the booth will display and invite customers to try confectionery products with green packaging. Visitors can also participate in interactive activities to color the digital picture "Orion's green journey", carrying the message that businesses and consumers join hands to create more green areas for the environment in Vietnam in particular and the world in general.
Mr. Vo Thanh Phuoc, Development Director of Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company (Faslink), expects this year's event season to achieve three major goals: spreading awareness about consumption, promoting sustainable consumption, creating a strong driving force for sustainable production and sustainable supply chains - the foundation of a green economy .
As demand increases, production expands, costs will be optimized, and sustainable products will become more accessible to Vietnamese consumers. "We especially appreciate Tuoi Tre newspaper for initiating the epochal initiative "Green Vietnam Festival". This is an important bridge between businesses and consumers, contributing to the formation of a community oriented towards a green lifestyle," said Mr. Phuoc.
Journalist Tran Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, said the second year of the Green Vietnam Festival was held in the context of the sustainable development trend spreading strongly in most areas of production and life.
Therefore, the Green Vietnam Festival is not only a space to display products, but also a bridge to help businesses share their green development journey closer to the public.
"The specific action stories of businesses at the festival will create attraction and unique identity, thereby helping businesses deepen their sustainable image and reputation in the hearts of consumers. These are values that go beyond the framework of an event, contributing to promoting the green economy and reducing carbon emissions," said Mr. Toan.
For the pioneers, it is a “difficult but meaningful” transformation journey. Mr. Nguyen Gia Huy Chuong said the unit aims to continue expanding communication models, promoting sustainable consumption behavior and maintaining cooperation with press agencies, including Tuoi Tre newspaper, to spread awareness about the circular economy, extended producer responsibility and waste classification at source.

* Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Ha (Vice President of Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance - PRO Vietnam, General Director of Annam Group):
Small actions create big cycles
Green Vietnam Festival is one of the key programs in the first 5-year roadmap of PRO Vietnam, focusing on changing consumer awareness and behavior in disposing, classifying and recycling packaging after use.
We believe that moving towards a circular economy, the core factor lies not only in technology or recycling scale, but also in the awareness and actions of each consumer. Green Vietnam Festival creates a space for people, businesses and management agencies to meet, exchange and practice green lifestyles through direct and close-up experiential activities.
For PRO Vietnam, this is not only a communication opportunity but also a concrete step in the journey of accompanying the community, aiming to turn the choice of "green living" into a daily habit, towards the goal of building a green, clean and beautiful Vietnam.
After two years of accompanying the "Green Vietnam" project, we have seen a very positive change in community awareness and action. Consumers have become more interested in sorting, recycling and responsible consumption.
