Vietnam Airlines strengthens Vietnam-UK strategic cooperation, spreading cultural and humanitarian values

Witnessed by General Secretary To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation during their official visit to the UK, Vietnam Airlines signed two important memorandums of understanding with the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) and the charity organization Facing The World. The two agreements mark a new step in the journey to connect Vietnam with the world through culture, art and humanity.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines , London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) and Ho Guom Opera House agreed to implement a cooperation program, aiming at sustainable development in the fields of culture, arts and promoting the national image.

The London Symphony Orchestra will perform annually at the Hoan Kiem Theater, starting from October 2025, including a live-streaming program for a global audience. The concerts will be co-organized and produced by Vietnam Airlines and the Hoan Kiem Theater, combining artistic exchange, training and development of young talents. As the national airline, Vietnam Airlines will sponsor the transportation of all musicians, instruments and performance crew, contributing to bringing the quintessence of international art closer to the Vietnamese public.

On the same day, Vietnam Airlines and Facing The World, a British charity specializing in facial reconstruction surgery for children with deformities, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation for the 2025-2030 period, marking 10 years of steadfast companionship for the smiles of Vietnamese children.

Under the agreement, Vietnam Airlines will transport international experts and doctors to Vietnam to conduct training programs, medical examinations and voluntary surgeries. At the same time, Facing The World will continue to organize specialized training courses and transfer craniofacial surgery techniques, a field that requires high medical qualifications and international experience.

Since 2015, Vietnam Airlines has regularly accompanied Facing The World in medical charity activities, transporting international doctors and experts to Vietnam for free to perform surgeries and provide professional training for domestic medical staff. From 2019 to 2025, the two sides and three major partner hospitals, including Viet Duc Hospital, 108 Military Central Hospital and Hong Ngoc Hospital, have cooperated to train more than 200 doctors and support more than 10,000 surgeries each year.

In addition, with the support of Vietnam Airlines, Facing the World has organized about 10 training programs and large scientific conferences in Vietnam with the goal of providing knowledge and building a team of skilled local doctors, reducing some of the difficulties in accessing medical care for patients in difficult circumstances.

As a companion airline, Vietnam Airlines continues to uphold its pioneering mission in social responsibility activities, demonstrating a business philosophy associated with humanity and sustainable development according to ESG standards (Environmental, Social and Governance).

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, shared: “The two cooperation agreements today have special meanings, one is music and art, the common language of emotions, the other is the spirit of sharing, the bond that connects people. This is the commitment of the national airline in the journey of sustainable development, where culture, people and aviation converge for a modern, humane and integrated Vietnam.”

The two signing ceremonies took place as Vietnam and the UK celebrate 15 years of Strategic Partnership (2010-2025) and more than half a century of diplomatic relations (1973-2025). The agreements not only open up specific cooperation opportunities between the organisations, but also symbolise the deep and enduring friendship between the two countries.

From the long-distance routes connecting Vietnam with five continents, Vietnam Airlines continues to spread its wings on journeys imbued with humanistic values, where culture, people and kindness are harmonized and spread. Not only undertaking the mission of transportation, Vietnam Airlines is also a bridge connecting the good values ​​of the nation, contributing to portraying the image of a modern, humane and rich-in-identity Vietnam that is integrating with the world.
