Viettel Telecom aims to become a technology company

(Dan Tri) - At the 6th Party Congress of Viettel Telecom Corporation for the 2025-2030 term, the goal of becoming a leading technology company was determined, contributing to building Vietnam in the digital age.

On July 24-25, the 6th Party Congress of Viettel Telecom Corporation for the 2025-2030 term was solemnly held, gathering 150 delegates representing more than 1,700 party members. The Congress is an important milestone, affirming the mettle, intelligence and aspiration to rise after 25 years of construction and development, demonstrating Viettel Telecom's strong determination to transform.

Term 2020-2025: Courage to overcome difficulties, maintain leading position

Overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts and severe natural disasters, Viettel Telecom Party Committee has led the Corporation to comprehensively complete the set goals. Viettel Telecom not only maintains its leading position in the mobile sector, but also affirms its position in the fixed broadband market. The enterprise has become prominent in customer service, digital experience and pioneered in commercializing 5G and IoT technology, developing a digital service ecosystem.

In addition, Viettel Telecom has actively contributed to international markets, implemented social security programs and improved the lives of its staff. The Party Committee has been recognized as clean and strong for 5 consecutive years, affirming its strength from its ideological and organizational foundation.

Vision 2025-2030: Leading technology, reaching global level

The congress established a big, strong and ambitious vision for Viettel Telecom in the next 5 years. The strategic goal is to transform the growth model, from a traditional telecommunications enterprise to a technology company with new growth drivers: digital platforms, digital services, AI, Cloud, Big Data, and application solutions in all aspects of life.

Specific goals identified by Viettel Telecom include: Universalizing advanced technology infrastructure, 5G coverage to 99% of the population, over 70% of mobile subscribers are 5G subscribers, over 70% of households have access to Gigabit speed fiber optic network; Extensive AI application, leading Vietnam in AI-based customer experience (AX); Transforming the business model from simple connection to digital platform serving millions of customers; Reaching out globally, bringing "Made by Viettel" products and services to the international market.

Speaking at the Congress, Major General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group - affirmed: "Viettel Telecom is one of the most courageous and resilient units of the group. In any circumstance, the Corporation still maintains its position and constantly strives to lead the trend."

The Group's Chairman requested that in the 2025-2030 period, Viettel Telecom must create a breakthrough in developing data subscribers and 5G services, with the goal of more than 20,000 5G broadcasting stations in 2025, maximizing the potential of telecommunications infrastructure and digital platforms, comprehensively innovating customer care, sustainable development, taking the lead in innovation, solidarity, discipline and responsibility.

Viettel Telecom representative affirmed: “The 6th Congress has ended, opening a new term full of challenges but also full of opportunities. With a strong desire to transform, a spirit of constant innovation and a strong will, Viettel Telecom is ready to embark on a new journey - the journey of a Vietnamese technology enterprise reaching the world”.
