VinFuture announces Science and Technology Week and Award Ceremony 2023

This is an international event series, gathering many outstanding names in the world in key fields such as semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, precision medicine and green transport infrastructure. In particular, the highlight of the event series will be the ceremony to honor scientists with breakthrough achievements, serving the lives of millions of people on earth.

VinFuture Week and VinFuture Award Ceremony are one of the most anticipated annual events of the global Science and Technology community.

This year, VinFuture chose the message “Global solidarity”, including 4 main activities: “Science for Life Seminar”; “VinFuture Future Discovery Dialogue Series”; “VinFuture Award Ceremony”; and “Interaction with VinFuture Award Winners”.

The series of events kicked off with the “Science for Life” seminar, taking place over two days, December 18-19, with four sessions: “Semiconductor technology: The foundation of the modern world”, “Promoting precision immunology to treat autoimmune disorders”, “Sustainable infrastructure and green transportation”, “Artificial intelligence: Breakthrough potential and challenges”.

VinFuture 2023 will continue to honor inventors of groundbreaking works that contribute to creating the future.

The seminar brought together speakers who are world-leading scientists such as Professor Teck-Seng Low (Senior Vice President at the National University of Singapore - Singapore); Dr. Sadasivan Shankar (Manager of Research - Technology Development at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University - USA); Professor Shimon Sakaguchi (IFReC Pioneering Immunology Research Center - Osaka University - Japan);

Professor Jang-Soo Chun (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology and Director of the National Center for Innovative Research Initiatives on Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis – Korea); Professor Christian Borgs (Director of the Bakar Institute for Digital Materials for the Planet – BIDMaP – USA)…

Within the framework of the event series, the "Science for Life" Seminar will continue to take place.

Parallel to the Scientific Seminar is the “VinFuture Discovery Dialogue Series” which is held for the first time to open up opportunities for cooperation and transfer of potential technology in the world to Vietnam.

Specifically, 9 organizations including the largest research institutes, universities in Vietnam and businesses will participate in in-depth discussions with the world's leading scientists on "New technology in cancer treatment"; "Modern agriculture towards net zero emissions"; "New technology in the treatment of infectious diseases and HIV for young women"...

The VinFuture 2023 Award Ceremony - the most anticipated highlight of the global scientific community - will take place on the evening of December 20, 2023 at the Hoan Kiem Theater (Hanoi). This is an important moment, honoring the inventors of groundbreaking works, "joining global efforts" to contribute to creating a sustainable living environment for future generations, nominated from nearly 1,400 research projects from more than 90 countries around the world.

Immediately following the Award Ceremony is the event “Hello Future: Meeting with the 2023 VinFuture Award Winners” taking place on December 21, 2023. Here, the Award winners will spend the morning interacting with the public to share and inspire their scientific research journey, and the afternoon will be a presentation to outstanding young scientists, talented students, businesses and the startup community who want to apply scientific breakthroughs into practice.

The VinFuture 2023 event series will bring together many outstanding names in the world in key scientific fields.

The VinFuture Prize has entered its third season with its prestige and stature increasingly affirmed in the global science and technology community, recognized as being on par with the world's leading prestigious Awards.

In Vietnam, the VinFuture Foundation and the VinFuture Prize also have special significance, not only as a bridge connecting the world's outstanding intellectuals with the Vietnamese science and technology community, but also contributing to inspiring and motivating Vietnamese science to quickly catch up and go further on the world science and technology map.
