Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac, a leading expert in research, theater theory and criticism, and winner of the State Prize for Literature and Arts, passed away on the evening of September 27 at the age of 82.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac was born in 1943 in Phu Minh, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi , in a family with many generations of medical practice.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac had artistic talent since he was a child. At the age of 22, he was an excellent lead actor of the Ha Tay New Rice Cheo Troupe and his roles were always loved by a large audience and colleagues such as Tan (play Before the Reunion ), Father (play Spring Road ), Viet (play Eyes ), Ngo Thi Nham (play Ngo Thi Nham ) ...
Not only acting and directing, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Tri Trac also participated in writing stage scripts. At the age of 23, he wrote his first script, Before the Return to the Army , which was staged and performed by the Ha Tay Song and Dance Troupe. Since then, he has written about 30 scripts, winning 19 awards, including 4 A awards and 5 B awards.
In 1969, he studied directing at the Vietnam Theatre Arts School. After graduating, he staged many stage plays such as: Spring Road; Love Poem (Ha Tay Drama and Dance Troupe); Wild Flowers and Sword ( Hoa Binh Folk Song and Dance Troupe); Muc Lien Thanh De (Hanoi Cheo Troupe), Brick Kiln Tung (General Logistics Department Cheo Troupe, Hanoi Cheo Troupe), Vuon Vu Mon (Central Puppetry Theatre)...
His experience as an actor, director and author has become the luggage that helps Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac determinedly pursue the path of becoming a theater critic. From 1973 to 1979, he studied Theater Criticism at the Leningrad Academy of Theater, Music and Cinema (Soviet Union). After graduating with an excellent degree, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac returned to Vietnam to take up the position of Head of the Theater Research Department, Theater Institute under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Head of the Department of Scriptwriting Theory at the Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema. From 1983 to 1986, he continued to study as a graduate student in the Soviet Union.
Returning to Vietnam, from 1986 until now, he has held many positions. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac has always been an upright, intelligent, sharp, quick-witted writer of theater theory and criticism, with many profound discoveries and unique perspectives, and high scientific thinking. His experience as an actor, director and author, along with his time working as a manager at the Department of Performing Arts, has helped Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac accumulate and apply them in hundreds of articles published in specialized journals. Of which, 6 books have won 8 awards.
With 82 years of age and 60 years of career, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac has devoted his whole life to the cause of culture and art in general and the theater career in particular. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac has been awarded many noble awards: Third-class Labor Medal, Third-class Anti-American Resistance Medal, Medal for the cause of theater, Medal for the cause of culture and information, Medal for the cause of culture and art, State Prize for literature and art.
People working in the theater arts quietly sent each other sad news about his passing with deep sorrow and respect for his talent and heart, the person who devoted his whole life to the theater arts of our country. The funeral service for Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Tri Trac will be held from September 28 at No. 83, Phu Thinh Quarter, Phu Minh Town, Phu Xuyen District, Hanoi. The funeral and memorial service will be from 9:00 to 9:30 on September 29. Cremation will be held at Hoan Vu Crematorium, Van Dien, Hanoi.
