50 outstanding literary and artistic works
In order to honor the special values of Vietnamese literature and art over the past half century, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the program "Voting and announcing 50 outstanding and outstanding Vietnamese literary and performing arts works after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
With nearly 200 works in the fields of literature, theater, music and dance, through the Voting Councils of the Central Literature and Arts Association, the preliminary and final Councils with specific selection criteria, working objectively, scientifically, with a high sense of responsibility, voted for 50 typical and excellent works, vividly reflecting the changes of the country, the aspirations for peace , national harmony, and the achievements in building and defending the Fatherland in the new period.
At the program, 50 outstanding works were announced, including 14 literary works; 18 theatrical works, 12 musical works, and 6 dance works.
Of which, 14 literary works include: Novel "The Sorrow of War" - Bao Ninh, novel "You and They" - Nguyen Binh Phuong, novel "Mau Thuong Ngan" - Nguyen Xuan Khanh, novel "The Land of Many People and Many Ghosts" - Nguyen Khac Truong, novel "The Season of Fallen Leaves in the Garden" - Ma Van Khang, story collection "The Water God's Daughter" - Nguyen Huy Thiep, story "Reeds" - Nguyen Minh Chau, story collection "Endless Field" - Nguyen Ngoc Tu, novel "The Distant Time" - Le Luu, novel "The Wharf Without a Husband" - Duong Huong, collection "Sunken Island" - Tran Dang Khoa, long poem "Those Who Go to the Sea" - Thanh Thao, long poem "The Road to the City" - Huu Thinh, poem "January Song" - Y Phuong.

Continuing the flow of literature and art "Living forever with time"
At the program, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a program to create literary and artistic works "Living forever with time" for the period 2026-2030 towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 90th anniversary of National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that in the period of 2020-2025, the Campaign to create literary and artistic works with the theme "Living forever with time" has achieved many encouraging results. Many works of ideological and artistic value have been published, staged and widely introduced to the public, not only enriching the spiritual life of society but also contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese literature and art in the period of innovation and integration.
Promoting this achievement, moving into the period 2026 - 2030, the time towards many important events of the country: 100 years of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and 85 years of National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to launch the New Creation Campaign. This is not only a professional activity, but also a heartfelt call to the artists of the whole country - those who carry within them a heart full of emotions, creative intelligence and a sense of responsibility towards the Fatherland.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized: This is an important event of Vietnamese culture, literature and arts, towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 85th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - a practical activity to continue implementing the Party's Resolutions on culture, the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's cultural sector to 2035, with a vision to 2045 and the Conclusion of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference in 2021.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, the announcement of 50 outstanding Vietnamese literary and performing arts works today is not only an honoring event, but also an act of deep gratitude, from the heart to the heart, of the Party, State and people towards generations of artists, those who have devoted their talents, intelligence and their whole lives to "crystallize the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers" into every stroke of the letter, every note of music, every play...
“It is a tribute to the silent sacrifices and tireless creations that have built up the Vietnamese spirit, spirit and soul. And above all, this is the most sincere gratitude to millions of people, readers and audiences - those who have preserved, passed on and turned these works into a common heritage, truly alive in the spiritual life of the nation,” Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh affirmed.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to direct the strengthening and improvement of the effectiveness of state management of culture, literature and arts; closely coordinate with the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, specialized Literature and Arts Associations at the central and local levels; effectively implement the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period; Conclusion No. 84-KL/TU dated June 21, 2024 of the Politburo to continue implementing Resolution No. 23-NQ/TU dated June 16, 2008 of the Politburo (10th tenure) on continuing to build and develop literature and arts in the new period; at the same time, focus on completing and soon submitting to the Politburo for promulgation the Resolution on developing Vietnamese culture in the new era.
The creative campaign "Living forever with time" for the period 2026-2030 is expected to be implemented in 2 phases. Phase 1 (December 2025 - 2027) includes the following main activities: Authors develop outlines and manuscripts; establish an Appraisal Council, select 40 outlines and manuscripts to participate in the Creative Camp; organize Creative Camps in the North, Central and South regions; publish 10 to 20 literary and artistic works for publication, adaptation and staging into literary and artistic works. Phase 2 (2028 - 2029) implements investment, ordering, publishing, specialization and staging of selected works. The campaign is expected to be concluded on February 3, 2030.
Genres of writing include: Literature (novels, epics); theater (dramas, operas, folk songs, reformed operas, operas); music (symphony, chorus, musicals, songs); dance (dance poems, suites, dance plays). The campaign's duration is from the launch date to September 30, 2026.
