Last night (November 29), in the heart of Hanoi, where the winter wind was chilling, “Season of Love” – a music night by Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan – opened up a warm space; a space of hands wanting to hold each other, a space of warmth seeking warmth, a space that makes people want to get closer, listen to each other more. And in the cold of the last month of the year, Viet Hoan’s music lit up such gentle flames.

Season of Love - The music night was not introduced with flowery words, nor was it based on a list of brilliant "stars". Viet Hoan - a singer who has gone through the years, calm and passionate - chose a different path: he told his story with love. A lounge singer returns to the stage after 5 years of absence, bringing with him both hesitation and an everlasting emotion. A little girl – Viet Thi, his daughter – sings with the innocence of youth, with the warmth inherited from her father. A Ngoc Nguyen only modestly introduces himself as a “singing lover”, but in fact, he is the golden voice of the journalism world – the one who won the Third Prize of the National Voice of Journalists.

And most special – a “strange character” in the middle of the music stage: Doctor of Law Dao Hoi, former Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper.

While Ngoc Nguyen has made his mark on the stage, Dao Hoi appeared in the music night as a poetic surprise. He is not a singer, nor is he a person standing in the spotlight of performing arts. He is a legal expert trained in the former Soviet Union, who has spent many years as a journalist, “bringing the law into life” with his pen.

Music – to him – is just a light game to find peace, to balance life. However, when standing in front of the lights, people do not see the appearance of a doctor of law, nor the usual neatness in his writings. People only see a Dao Hoi singing with all his deep passion, singing as if he was talking to himself, singing to express, to send love.

That voice, though not professional in the technical sense, touched the audience with its sincerity. It was like a drop of dew falling at the right moment that makes the whole garden tremble – fragile but creating a lasting emotion.

“The season of love” ended when the winter wind blew outside again, but the people who stayed behind carried a feeling that was hard to describe – warmth, longing, hope for more love to come. Viet Hoan’s music night was not only a place to listen to familiar melodies, but also a reminder that the stage - the sanctuary of art - is not a place to show off perfection. It is a meeting place for the heart.

There, every person – from veteran artists to “outsiders”; from the little daughter to the experienced father – is honored and shines with love. And it is that love that makes Hanoi ’s winter more gentle, bringing people closer together in the chill of the end of the year.

Not using the excitement as a force of attraction on stage, she gently anchors the gentleness and tenderness with poetic words to evoke emotions and lead the audience; Adding to Season of Love are also very real stories such as artist Thanh Tam's secret about the 12 million VND debt to buy her first car, or the times she cycled to "run shows", the trip back to Hai Phong on a smoky Vonga with Viet Hoang...
