Entrance fees collected nearly 240 billion VND, a 6% increase compared to the same period last year, reaching 24.8% of the provincial target.
For example, during the April 30th - May 1st holiday in 2024, Ha Long Bay was a popular tourist destination. Over the five-day holiday, Ha Long Bay welcomed nearly 85,000 visitors, including almost 30,000 foreign tourists. Revenue from entrance tickets reached nearly 23 billion VND.
To enhance the appeal of the heritage bay, relevant departments, localities, and travel and tourism service providers have proactively developed many new tourism products and improved the quality of visitor experiences, focusing on attracting high-end tourists and international visitors with high spending power.
Ha Long Bay is a top priority destination for international tourists.
This year, in preparation for the peak season of sea and island tourism, the Ha Long Bay Management Board has proactively developed plans and prepared the necessary conditions to launch and collect fees for three new sightseeing routes in the bay from May 1, 2025, in accordance with Resolution No. 51/2025/NQ-HĐND dated February 26, 2025, of the Provincial People's Council. These include: Ha Long Bay Route 6, a route from the port - Chan Voi Island - Ba Cua Bay - Tung Lam Island - Cap Bai Island (the final point adjacent to Gia Luan, Lan Ha Bay, Hai Phong ) or vice versa; Ha Long Bay Route 7, where tourists will visit along Ha Long Bay Routes 1, 2, 3, and 4; and Ha Long Bay Route 8, a route from Tuan Chau Passenger Port - Ha Long International Passenger Port - South Cau Trang area.
In addition, the Ha Long Bay Management Board is surveying and implementing a project to restore the Cua Van Floating Cultural Center and the Cua Van and Vung Vieng fishing villages as a basis for developing cultural tourism products. Particularly, preparations for coordinating the reception of over 200 European billionaires attending the "Art for Climate - Ha Long Bay 2025" event in June 2025 are also being actively implemented.
With its diverse, synchronized, and modern transportation infrastructure, including air and sea routes, a system of inter-provincial expressways, and especially the Ha Long International Cruise Port, Quang Ninh is a destination for international cruise lines. From the beginning of 2025 to the present, Quang Ninh has welcomed dozens of international cruise ships from Europe, America, Australia, Northeast Asia, etc., bringing tens of thousands of international tourists to visit Ha Long - Quang Ninh.
This April 30th, at Ha Long International Cruise Port, Quang Ninh will welcome a group of tourists aboard the Pacific World cruise ship, managed and operated by Peace Boat Company (Japan), bringing approximately 1,700 Japanese tourists to Ha Long - Quang Ninh. This also marks the first time Quang Ninh has welcomed a cruise ship group from Japan to Ha Long, opening up opportunities to promote cruise tourism routes connecting Japanese ports with Quang Ninh, a positive sign from one of the key international tourist markets with high spending power. In Ha Long, the group will visit several locations to experience local culture and cuisine, engage in cultural exchange, and view art and photography exhibitions.
