Tet Nguyen Dan (Lunar New Year) is not only a time of transition between the old and new year, but also an occasion to crystallize the traditional cultural and moral values of the Vietnamese people, where family bonds are strengthened and extended, and origins are honored.
However, amidst that moment of reunion, hundreds of thousands of officers and soldiers throughout the army silently carried out their duties. While the streets were ablaze with the colors of spring, and families gathered around the New Year's Eve dinner table, on the borders, islands, in the skies, at sea, and in other strategically important areas, the soldiers held their weapons firmly, maintaining strict combat readiness. They set aside personal matters to fulfill the noble task of safeguarding the peace of the Fatherland and protecting the happiness of the people. This is a vivid manifestation of the tradition of "Serving the People," and a testament to the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in peacetime.

The Lunar New Year is only truly complete for the people when the country is at peace and its territorial sovereignty is firmly protected. To achieve this, soldiers must always be ready, never allowing themselves to be complacent for even a minute or a second. The peace of the people is the highest goal of national defense. Therefore, maintaining strict duty rosters, increasing vigilance, and being ready to handle any situation during the Tet holiday is not only a requirement and a duty, but also a sacred responsibility to the Fatherland and the people for all officers and soldiers.
The Party, the State, and the people always acknowledge, appreciate, and are grateful for those silent sacrifices. Messages of encouragement, branches of peach and apricot blossoms sent to border areas and islands; programs like "Spring on the Border," "Tet for Soldiers and Civilians," letters, and heartfelt gifts… not only bring the warmth of spring but also affirm that the entire nation stands alongside the soldiers. This is a great source of encouragement, giving strength to each soldier to stand firm on the front lines and excellently fulfill their assigned duties.

"Protecting the country before it is in danger" - This spirit is realized today through the vigilance, dedication, and readiness to fight and sacrifice of the soldiers. The Tet holiday for soldiers holds a special meaning. It is a Tet of responsibility, pride, and the honor of contributing. Though not with their families, they are fulfilling the noble duty of ensuring peace and security for the reunions of millions of families across Vietnam. This is what creates the noble value of revolutionary soldiers, those who always place the interests of the Party, the Fatherland, and the people above personal gain.
Spring arrives, bringing with it new hope and aspirations. In this sacred flow, the image of the steadfast soldier on the front lines symbolizes willpower and faith. It is proof of a simple yet profound truth: the happiness of the people is the greatest reward for a soldier. And their greatest honor is to guard the spring for the Fatherland, so that the country remains peaceful, and the people may live in peace and happiness.
