Ha Long Bay ranked 2nd in the 25 most beautiful natural destinations in the world

Ha Long Bay ranked 2nd in the world's top 25 natural destinations in 2024 according to Tripadvisor.

Specifically, the Information Center of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that the world's leading online travel platform Tripadvisor has just announced a list of the world's top 25 natural destinations, part of the Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Destinations award series. In which, Ha Long Bay ranked second in the world's top 25 natural destinations in 2024. It is known that this is a prestigious annual award honoring destinations that receive the highest ratings from the community, representing the level of excellence in the tourism sector. Ha Long Bay, one of the World Natural Heritages recognized by UNESCO, possesses emerald green waters and nearly 2,000 limestone islands of various shapes, with many fascinating caves creating a world that is both vivid and mysterious.

With hundreds of rocky islands, each island has a different and very vivid shape. Hidden inside those rocky islands are beautiful caves such as Thien Cung Cave, Dau Go Cave, Sung Sot Cave, Trinh Nu Cave, Tam Cung Cave... Besides, Ha Long Bay is also a place of biodiversity with a rich and diverse ecosystem. Most recently, on September 16, 2023, in the capital Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), UNESCO recognized Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago as a World Natural Heritage, because it contains areas of natural beauty including limestone islands covered with vegetation and limestone peaks rising above the sea along with related karst features such as domes and caves. This UNESCO-recognized World Natural Heritage of Vietnam also has a special appeal for those who love sports such as hiking, swimming, diving, rowing and climbing. Topping the list is Nepal's capital Kathmandu, which is surrounded by a valley filled with historical sites, ancient villages and temples. Other Asian destinations that made the top include Tangalle, which Tripadvisor calls "the hidden gem of Sri Lanka", and Jordan's Wadi Rum desert, and Indonesia's Lombok Island. Previously, Ha Long Bay was named the World's Top Trending Destinations 2024 by Tripadvisor, ranking third after Tokyo (Japan) and Seoul (South Korea).
