The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards took place at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea. The annual event, dubbed the Korean equivalent of the Oscars, made history this year when Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin became the first couple to win both top acting awards on the same night.

Historic moment for the power couple

Hyun Bin won Best Actor for his role as An Jung Geun in the historical spy blockbuster Harbin, which recreates the tense chase between Korean resistance fighters and Japanese forces in 1909.

The actor expressed: "I know this award was given thanks to the enthusiastic support of fans. I am extremely grateful. Playing the role of An Jung Geun was really heavy but director Woo Min Ho believed in me. I would like to dedicate this award to those who have devoted everything for Korea and to my beloved wife Son Ye Jin and our son."

Just a few minutes later, Son Ye Jin also stepped onto the stage emotionally when her name was called in the Best Actress category for her emotional role in the film No other choice (Korean title: Eojjeolsugaeopda) by the talented director Park Chan Wook.

The actress confided: "I usually prepare a speech when I am nominated, but this time I didn't. My mind is completely blank. My first dream as an actress was to win the Best Actress award at Blue Dragon." At the end of her speech, she sent a loving message: "I want to share this joy with the two men I love the most - Kim Tae Pyung (Hyun Bin's real name) and our son Woo Jin."

This is Son Ye Jin's second Best Actress award, following her first win when she was 27 years old.

Son Ye Jin emotionally added: "It's an honor to receive the Most Popular Star award with my husband. Thank you for creating this unforgettable memory for us." The actress also happily raised the V sign next to her husband, sharing her joy with fans.

Hyun Bin expressed: "We stand on stage together with trophies in hand - just like after Crash Landing on You . Tonight is a new chapter in our shared happiness. Thank you very much."
