On November 22, according to information from Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, in 2026 the school plans to enroll students using many methods, but will eliminate the method of considering admission based on academic records for 17 majors, and at the same time, eliminate the consideration of competency assessment test scores of some units.
The school plans to apply 6 admission methods including: Direct admission; admission based on high school graduation exam scores; admission based on high school transcripts; admission based on independent exam results organized by the school and independent exam results organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education; admission combining the above methods with aptitude test scores organized by Hanoi University of Education 2.
In particular, the school will consider direct admission, giving priority according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training for all majors; considering according to the 2026 high school graduation exam scores for all majors.
Regarding the admission based on academic records, Hanoi National University of Education 2 only applies to the following majors: Preschool education, physical education, civic education, computer pedagogy, information technology, materials science, sports management, Vietnamese studies; and two new majors expected to open: education and political economics.
Thus, compared to last year, in 2026, there are 17 industries expected to no longer use the high school transcript selection method for admission.
According to the 2026 university and college admission plan announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates can register for university admission from July 2 to 5:00 p.m. on July 14.
Training institutions must complete the publication of enrollment information on the training institution's website by February 15, 2026.
The Ministry of Education and Training requires universities and colleges to develop enrollment plans and promptly announce information so that students have plans to study and review for the 2026 high school graduation exam.
At the 2025 university education conference organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on September 18, the Ministry sought opinions from higher education institutions on whether to keep or remove the admission method based on academic records from the 2026 admission period.
