On June 21, Russian army units and Luhansk militia advanced south of Lisichansk, taking control of the towns of Ustinovka, Mirnaya Dolina and the village of Podlesnoe. Russian and Luhansk forces entered the village of Rai-Aleksandrovka, controlling fire on the road from the towns of Zolotoe and Gorskoe.
According to social media information, more than 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers and nationalist gunmen were surrounded.

Gorskoe encirclement, estimated at about 2000 Ukrainian soldiers, nationalist fighters and foreign mercenaries.
By this time, the “Gorskoe pocket” was firmly closed. The towns of Gorskoe and Zolotoe were under the complete control of the Luhansk militia and the Russian army. The Chechen National Guard suppressed and destroyed the last pockets of resistance of the Ukrainian army.
According to local reports, some groups of Ukrainian soldiers tried to break out of the Gorskoe siege and fled to the Lisichansk and Bakhmut industrial zones. Others changed into civilian clothes and tried to hide among the civilians to escape.
As the Ukrainian army had planted numerous minefields around the settlements to prevent the Russian army from advancing, Ukrainian troops were forced to cross these minefields and suffered heavy losses. On June 25, a group of Ukrainian soldiers were killed while running through minefields in the direction of Bakhmut.
But local civilians also suffered from this disaster.
On June 25, a civilian car exploded after running over mines planted by the Ukrainian army on a road leading to the town of Gorskoe. Luhansk militiamen tried to help the victims.
People have begun to leave shelters in the town of Gorskoe. The Russian military is providing humanitarian aid to local residents. The Luhansk militia is providing security in the area of two nearby towns.
