The memory of the victory news, of the day the country was reunified on April 30, 1975, is something that Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong, former Head of the Broadcasting Department (VOV), cannot forget. He was one of the broadcasters who worked and witnessed the special working atmosphere at the Public Address Room of the Voice of Vietnam at 39 Ba Trieu Street (Hanoi) on that historic day.

In the art and political program Khuc ca khai trien , Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong said that there is a type of information that he and his colleagues call "break news". "Breaking news" has no theme song, no introduction, just read directly on air as soon as there is new information.
Meritorious Artist Ha Phuong shared: "In the last days of the resistance war, the announcers of Voice of Vietnam worked 24/7, without leave, without compensatory breaks, eating and sleeping in the office of only about 15 square meters at 39 Ba Trieu. We were on duty day and night to update and broadcast war news, especially "emergency news" - read directly on the air as soon as there was new information".

VOV also announced the victory news broadcast on April 30, 1975 from the Voice of Vietnam in Hanoi with the voice of announcer Tuyet Mai from the capital: "The Ho Chi Minh Campaign has been completely victorious. Saigon City has been completely liberated. The flag of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam has flown over the roof of the Presidential Palace of the puppet government...".

Another victory news was also reproduced in the Triumphal Song program. That was the news broadcast on the evening of May 1, 1975, broadcast by Saigon Liberation Radio and Television. That was the first broadcast of the newly taken over television station but had the mission of opening a new era: "This is Saigon Liberation Radio and Television, broadcasting from Saigon, greetings to our beloved compatriots... At 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, our heroic and glorious city was liberated...".
Two news bulletins, one from Hanoi, one from Saigon, were like two heartbeats in unison on the day of reunification. They have gone beyond the framework of journalism, becoming the most vivid media legacies in modern Vietnamese history.
The Triumphal Song not only broadcasts reports on two victory news bulletins. The program also has melodies connecting the past.
