On May 28, news from the People's Committee of Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province said that the Departmentof Education and Training of the town had a meeting with Hai Thanh A Primary School (Hai Thanh commune, Nghi Son town), which was related to the reflection that this school spent nearly 200 million VND of parent fund and had reported the incident.
Hai Thanh A Primary School, where public opinion stirred up over the spending of nearly 200 million VND from parent funds
According to the report, the image of two summary tables of income and expenditure of the parents' association was made public at the meeting of parents' representatives on May 23.
Records kept at the school show that the money to buy student desks and chairs for the 2024-2025 school year, buy drums, repair the electrical system, replace window glass, tile the stage, repair the plumbing system, buy water tanks, repair sewers and schoolyards was made from the education sponsorship fund.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Nghi Son town, the school has carried out the education sponsorship campaign in accordance with regulations. At the same time, the school has established a sponsorship campaign committee and compiled it periodically. There is no pressure on parents to contribute. Therefore, there is no basis to say "if you do not support, you will not be able to support the school".
Regarding the information "there is another fund, the parent fund, which collected 81 million to cover all the money". Through working, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Parents' Representative Board met and agreed with the school and parents of students in each class, collecting a total fund of 81,220,000 VND.

Up to now, this fund has spent 67,810,000 VND. Among the expenses, there is an expense for the Standing Committee of the Parents' Representative Board consisting of 3 people, each person spends 1 million VND for gas, phone calls. The expense of 4.8 million VND for tea and drinks for the whole school/24 classes' parent meeting (divided into 200,000 VND for each class) is appropriate.
Thus, the amount collected is 81,220,000 VND, 67,810,000 VND has been spent, the remaining amount in the fund is 13,410,000 VND. There are 2 items still planned to be spent.
The report also stated that the information reflecting that the school principal said "parents paid to buy TVs and fans for their children starting in grade 1, but at the end of grade 5, the principal said they belonged to the school because the school had electricity, so he asked parents to leave them for the school" is completely incorrect.
The information that teacher NVS texted and negotiated to pay money to remove Mr. NTĐ's Facebook post is true. However, this was done by Mr. S. on his own initiative, without being instigated by anyone.
Message asking for negotiation to remove post from a teacher at Hai Thanh A Primary School
In the face of the above "controversy", the Department of Education and Training of Nghi Son town requested Hai Thanh A Primary School to encourage the spirit of the school's cadres, teachers and employees; to propagate to cadres, teachers and employees to speak and act in accordance with the law, not to affect the reputation of individuals and groups. At the same time, the school was requested to organize a meeting to review and learn from experience for Mr. NVS, the person who texted to negotiate to pay money to remove the post.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, some Facebook accounts posted the income and expenditure of Hai Thanh A Primary School, causing a stir in public opinion. This information then spread rapidly on many forums.
The content reflects the school's parent fund-related revenues and expenditures, including many expenses that parents consider unreasonable and not in accordance with regulations, with a total amount of nearly 200 million VND.
