Don't limit yourself
Truong was a good student in literature in middle school but was good at physics in high school. After that, he chose chemical engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. And English is an important tool that leads him to many valuable opportunities. According to him, studying is a natural thing, not just a journey with a destination or a peak.
There was a period when he bought history, geography, literature books... from grades 6 to 12 to read and cherished the knowledge even more when he realized he had forgotten a lot. Truong said: "I don't feel bad about forgetting what I learned in the past, but I am proud because now no one forces me, there is no framework, but I am still happy to buy books to read, cherish them as if I were receiving a reward. The freedom to choose helps me learn happily and learning happily certainly leads to becoming a free person."
A late teacher showed Truong that: You don’t have to be the best to be able to teach someone something. He taught English, there were tapes that he couldn’t understand, vocabulary that he couldn’t remember, he was willing to listen again, sit down and look up words with his students… After the summer studying with him, from an average English level, he rose to have the highest score in the class and kept going further.
The school believes: "Teaching and learning is a process of companionship - mutual support between teachers and students. Sometimes hard work is the only secret. The biggest pressure is self-discipline. Each person has a different way to learn well, not necessarily like the majority and can change according to context and time. For me personally, the connection between knowledge and reality is the most effective way to learn".
