According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, through initial information, teacher T. is related to the family of the child in the clip (teacher T. calls the student's parents uncle and aunt). The student's family has asked teacher T. to tutor this child since grade 3 until now. The reason for the above incident is that while this student was playing with friends, he said that teacher T. could not understand what he was teaching. After hearing that information, teacher T. went to the student's house, in front of the student's mother, and slapped his face 3 times to teach his child a lesson from a family perspective.

Regarding the incident, on August 13, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province said it was requesting the Principal of Vinh Loc High School (located in Vinh Loc commune, Thanh Hoa province) to report specifically, so that it can be handled according to regulations.

Previously, Tien Phong newspaper reported that the authorities were verifying a clip posted on social media that recorded a man riding a motorbike to a house, calling a male student out to the yard and then repeatedly slapping the male student in the face. The incident was determined to have occurred at 9:33 a.m. on August 8, 2025 in Vinh Long commune, former Vinh Loc district (now Tay Do commune, Thanh Hoa province). The man in the clip is a teacher currently working at Vinh Loc High School, and the male student who was beaten is a 7th grader in the area.
