Navy Region 1 has 100% of its personnel on standby to respond to storm No. 3.

On the evening of July 20, information from Naval Region 1 said that in order to proactively prevent and combat storm No. 3 (storm Wipha), the unit has directed and deployed many proactive and positive measures in storm prevention, especially for units in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh areas.

Officers and soldiers of Naval Region 1 are ready to respond to the storm.

Accordingly, the agencies and units of the Naval Region 1 maintained 100% of their personnel on standby to respond to the storm; organized officers and soldiers to quickly reinforce houses and warehouses, trim trees, clear drainage ditches, etc.; and proactively coordinated with local authorities to be ready to respond and rescue when necessary.

Ships from Region 1 enter anchorage to take shelter from the storm.

According to the commander of the Naval Region 1 Command, at sea, the unit directed Brigade 169 and Brigade 170 to mobilize over 30 vessels to safe storm shelters; instructed units to closely monitor the storm's developments, review, adjust, and supplement storm prevention and search and rescue plans, and develop specific plans for each force in case of emergencies, especially regarding safety and minimizing damage caused by the storm.

Rear Admiral Tran Xuan Van, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Region 1, inspects storm prevention and control work.

On this occasion, the Commander of the 1st Naval Region Command presented certificates of commendation from the Political Commissar of the Navy to collectives and individuals who had achieved outstanding results in the search and rescue mission for the tourist ship QN-7105 (Green Bay 58) on July 19th.
