Naval Region 4 handles maritime issues well, firmly protects sea and island sovereignty

In 2024, the Party Committee, the Command of Region 4 and the Party Committees and commanders at all levels have strictly implemented the resolutions, directives and instructions from above; united, proactively led and directed the comprehensive completion of all aspects of work, many tasks were excellently completed. The entire Region strictly maintained combat readiness, grasped the situation, promptly advised and handled situations at sea and islands in accordance with the correct policies, maintained a peaceful and stable environment at sea and ensured the safety and security of Cam Ranh Base.

Agencies and units in the entire Region completed 100% of the training content, programs and plans; carried out well the drills, field exercises, and live-fire exercises to achieve the goals and requirements, ensuring absolute safety; carried out well the work of political education and ideological leadership. The work of building discipline, managing and training discipline, and ensuring safety made much progress; during the year, the entire Region had no serious violations of law or discipline.

The region seriously and promptly implemented the decisions of the Ministry of National Defense on merging logistics and technical agencies at all levels; ensured that logistics, technical and financial work was carried out according to plan, comprehensively and synchronously, promptly responding to regular and unexpected tasks; and effectively implemented the "Greening Truong Sa" Program.

The Region has participated in and performed well the task of national defense diplomacy; performed well the work of search and rescue, supporting and helping fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea. During the year, the Region organized 182 search and rescue missions; provided emergency aid and treatment to 159 people who were sick or had accidents at sea; and mobilized 35 ships to rescue and support fishermen.

In 2025, the Party Committee and Command of Region 4 determined: Continue to thoroughly lead, organize and seriously and effectively implement resolutions and directives of the Party at all levels; be highly combat-ready, firmly protect the assigned sovereignty of seas and islands; build a strong Party organization in terms of politics, ideology, organization and cadres; excellently complete all assigned tasks...

In his speech, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem highly appreciated the achievements of Region 4 in the past time. The Navy Commander requested the Party Committee, the Command and the leaders of the agencies and units in the Region: Continue to educate officers and soldiers to deeply understand the situation and tasks, proactively overcome difficulties, and successfully complete all assigned tasks; care for and train the staff, create favorable conditions and environment for officers to strive and develop; closely manage and take good care of the material and spiritual life of the troops.

Along with that, Region 4 needs to do well in training, combat readiness, increase autonomy in repairing and preserving technical equipment, properly implement safety rules; do well in self-sufficiency in food, plant trees to green the Cam Ranh peninsula...

On this occasion, Naval Region 4 summarized the emulation movement to win in 2024; launched the emulation movement to win in 2025 and organized awards for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2024.

In 2024, Naval Region 4 was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State, and was proposed to receive the Emulation Flag of the Government; 2 collectives were proposed to receive the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of National Defense; 4 collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Navy; more than 4,000 collectives and individuals were commended at all levels.
