Vietnam Airlines joins hands with Singapore Tourism Board and Sentosa to attract Vietnamese tourists

On May 20, Vietnam Airlines, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation to promote tourism.

Accordingly, within the framework of this strategic cooperation memorandum, the three parties will coordinate to implement activities to promote Singapore as an ideal destination for both leisure and business travel from Vietnam; introduce Sentosa as the top choice for Vietnamese tourists; and affirm Vietnam Airlines ' position as the preferred airline for routes to Singapore.

Representatives of Vietnam Airlines, Singapore Tourism Board and Sentosa Development Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation to promote tourism and expand connectivity between Vietnam and Singapore.

Specifically, Vietnam Airlines, STB and SDC will closely coordinate in joint communication campaigns, including promoting featured products and services through experience trips for celebrities, press representatives and key opinion leaders (KOLs) from Vietnam.

In addition, a series of content about Singapore and Sentosa will be published in Vietnam Airlines' Heritage magazine, along with the "Boarding Pass Privileges" promotion program for Vietnam Airlines passengers traveling to Singapore.

Other initiatives under the partnership include direct in-flight promotion, organizing field trips for industry partners, as well as participating in international tourism fairs.

The signing was made in the context of Singapore tourism recording remarkable recovery and growth. In 2024, the island nation welcomed more than 16 million international visitors, including more than 393 thousand from Vietnam.

Tourism revenue reached nearly SGD 30 billion, reflecting the growing demand for innovative and diverse tourism products and services. Vietnam continues to be among Singapore’s top 15 source markets, showing strong room for growth in the high-quality tourist segment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Terrence Voon, Managing Director of Southeast Asia, Singapore Tourism Board said: "Vietnam is one of Singapore's key markets and still has a lot of potential for development in the future.

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said that Singapore has always been the airline's strategic destination.

This tripartite cooperation memorandum is part of our comprehensive efforts to strengthen strategic cooperation in the region, while affirming the important role of strategic partners such as Vietnam Airlines and Sentosa Development Corporation."

For Vietnam Airlines, Singapore has always been one of its key markets in Southeast Asia. More than 30 years since the first flight between the two countries was launched, the airline has served more than 8 million passengers on this route.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates 21 flights per week connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Singapore. In 2024 alone, the airline transported more than 400,000 passengers on these routes. In the first 4 months of 2025, this figure reached 116,000.

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines shared: With a wide flight network, a loyal customer base, STB's marketing capabilities and unique products from SDC, we believe we will deploy effective campaigns that are suitable for modern travel trends.

The goal is not only to increase the number of visitors but also to contribute to promoting cultural exchange, community connection and sustainable tourism development.

Ms Jacqueline Low, Director of Sales, Business and Development of SDC expressed her hope to welcome more Vietnamese visitors to experience the unique beauty of Sentosa, especially the "Peranakan Reimagined" event taking place from May to August this year. The program will take visitors on a journey to discover Singapore's rich Peranakan culture through vibrant installations, art projections, performances, workshops, and curated menus in the Peranakan culinary style across Sentosa Island.
