On the morning of May 23, at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee, Comrade Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the coordination plan and support for the organization of the procession of Buddha's relics to be enshrined at Chuong Pagoda ( Hung Yen city).
Along with 8 other provinces and cities in the country including: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Tay Ninh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh and Da Nang city, Hung Yen province is the locality that will receive the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni - the national treasure of India to enshrine and worship at Chuong Pagoda, Hung Yen city from May 28 to 29, 2025.
According to the plan, from 8 to 11 am on May 28, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will carry the Buddha's relics from Quang Ninh to Hung Yen. Next, the procession of the Buddha's relics will take place from the Gao market intersection, along Nguyen Van Linh street, through Dien Bien street to Da slope, turn right onto Bai Say street to Chuong pagoda. From 14:00 on 28 At 8:00 p.m. on May 29, Buddha's relics were enshrined at the Bell Pagoda .
The event is expected to welcome about 500,000 people and Buddhists along with about 200,000 vehicles to the Chuong Pagoda area to worship Buddha's relics.
To best prepare the conditions for the procession and worship of Buddha's relics at Chuong Pagoda, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duy Hung Request the Department of Home Affairs to be the focal point for synthesizing and liaising between the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and relevant agencies, units and localities to develop plans and strategies for organizing the procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics.
The provincial police mobilized forces to ensure security, order and social safety, arranged traffic diversions, and closed roads on some routes to serve the procession and worship of the Buddha's relics; prevented fires and explosions; grasped, directed and controlled the dissemination of false information and the exploitation of the event to cause conflicts between religions.
The Department of Health arranges staff on duty to promptly support handling and emergency care for people when there are health incidents, and strengthens inspections to ensure food safety and hygiene, and prevent epidemics. Hung Yen City People's Committee implements plans to ensure traffic safety, security and order according to the guidance of the Provincial Police; proactively develops plans for vehicle parking lots, public toilets, and environmental sanitation for believers and Buddhists to participate in reasonable worship.
Relevant units mobilize volunteers to support Chuong Pagoda and the people during the event; propagate local people and tourists to keep the environment clean, civilized, friendly, creating a beautiful image in the eyes of tourists from all directions.
Previously, on the morning of May 23, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duy Hung received Indian Government delegation inspected preparations for the procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics at the Bell Pagoda.
