The meeting was chaired by Mr. Phan Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Council. This is an important screening step to select topics and projects that are urgent and have high application potential to serve the healthcare needs of the people in the province.

Mr. Phan Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Council, presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, the Council evaluated and reviewed four proposals for ordering scientific and technological tasks in the field of medical science and pharmacy – specifically, healthcare – submitted by organizations, scientists, departments, and localities. With an objective and scientific approach, the Council members thoroughly analyzed the novelty, feasibility, applicability, and conformity with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation… of each proposal.

Based on the opinions of each member and the results of the exchange and discussion, the Council unanimously agreed to propose the implementation of one task: "Investigation and survey of the prevalence, causes, risk factors of infertility and proposal of appropriate treatment procedures in Quang Ngai province".

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Thinh, University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City, participated in the discussion at the meeting.
The Council members appreciated the idea and the necessity of the topic; however, they also offered many constructive suggestions to improve the project proposal. Specifically, the Council unanimously agreed to revise the project title to "Research on the application and transfer of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment techniques for infertility at Quang Ngai Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital." In addition, they redefined the objectives and clarified the required outputs.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Phan Van Hieu acknowledged the contributions of the Council and requested that individuals whose proposals were approved promptly complete their dossiers, revise the names, content, and products according to the minutes of the meeting, in order to submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the list and implementation in 2026.
