Advisory Council for determining scientific and technological tasks in the field of agricultural science, specializing in agrochemistry and pedology

On the morning of December 4, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Quang Ngai province held a meeting of the Advisory Council to determine the provincial S&T tasks in 2025 (phase 2) in the field of agricultural science, specializing in agrochemistry - soil science. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Nguyen Tan Liem - Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Council.

In the field of agricultural science, specializing in agrochemistry and soil science, the Department of Science and Technology has received 6 task proposals from various organizations and units in 2025.

The Council proceeded with its work in accordance with Clauses 4, 5, 6, and 7 of Article 7 of Circular No. 09/2024/TT-BKHCN. During this process, delegates focused on analyzing the urgency, scientific validity, and practical applicability of each proposal in relation to the province's sustainable agricultural development needs.

Professor Pham Hoang Hai, Vice President of the Vietnam Geographical Society, gave a speech and participated in the discussion.

At the meeting, delegates agreed that the proposed tasks were all of significant importance for improving the efficiency of agricultural land use, adapting to climate change, and guiding crop development suitable for each ecological zone of the province.

Associate Professor Dr. Ho Quang Duc, Vietnam Soil Science Association, gave a presentation, exchanged ideas, and participated in the discussion.

After careful consideration, discussion, and objective voting, the Council unanimously selected 1 out of 6 proposals for provincial-level science and technology tasks in 2025, specifically the proposal "Research on developing a soil and agricultural chemistry map of Quang Ngai province to serve concentrated commercial agricultural production and sustainable land resource utilization".

Dr. Ho Huy Cuong, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology of the South Central Coast, gave a speech and participated in the discussion.

Concluding the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Tan Liem – Director of the Department of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Council – acknowledged the contributions of the Council members. He also requested that Council members continue to focus on providing in-depth feedback and guidance to refine the dossier to be submitted to the Department of Science and Technology for compilation, including: adjusting the task name, objectives, research content, and product targets; ensuring feasibility, applicability, and effectiveness.
