According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province Tran Duy Dong, the new Phu Tho province after merging the medical capacity in the three previous regions of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh has many differences, posing greater challenges for the health sector in protecting, caring for, and improving people's health.
Therefore, the Phu Tho health sector in general and Phu Tho General Hospital in particular need to continue to perform better the assigned functions and tasks, meet the requirements of medical examination, treatment and health care for the people, affirming the capacity, position and role of Phu Tho province as the medical center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
In order to build the Hospital into a special class, taking on regional functions in the coming time, Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital continues to focus on deploying new technical services, especially high-tech, specialized services with the goal of helping people access the fastest and best medical services.
Further strengthen training, improve professional and technical qualifications, especially high-quality human resources; focus on training and developing the team of cadres, doctors, and medical staff in terms of politics, expertise, ethics, and medical ethics, to better meet the requirements of medical examination, treatment, and health care for the people in the new situation.
At the same time, promote socialization and diversify resources to gradually reduce the burden on the state budget; upgrade and invest in new equipment, more modern and specialized medical equipment; ensure adequate supply of drugs, medical supplies and chemicals to serve medical examination and treatment for the people.
Strengthening the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, especially in hospital administrative management, in handling procedures for medical examination, treatment, health monitoring, creating the most favorable conditions for people to access advanced and modern medical services.
Exactly 60 years ago, from a medical facility lacking in staff and limited facilities, Phu Tho General Hospital has now become a Grade I Hospital, with 1,500 beds and over 1,500 staff, civil servants and employees.
Currently, the Hospital has performed more than 70% of the techniques of a special-class Hospital and 100% of the technical services according to the Ministry of Health's classification. It is a satellite hospital of many central-level hospitals; at the same time, it is the final line receiving patients from medical facilities in the province and neighboring provinces.
