In the first 6 months of 2025, Phu Quoc city is expected to welcome more than 4.4 million visitors, including 881,990 international visitors.
Total revenue from tourism reached about 21,588 billion VND, up 92.6% over the same period. Many Asian tourists came to visit, travel, experience, relax, explore nature, culture and cuisine.
In particular, the number of Chinese tourists increased sharply with more than 140,000 arrivals.
According to forecasts, the number of tourists from China is expected to increase as beautiful images of the pearl island are posted and widely shared on social networking platforms in the country of a billion people.
Ms. Huang Xin Yi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the London-based Travel Worry Free Company, shared that China is a large market with a rich and diverse demand for tourism products. Phu Quoc Island is the top choice of Chinese tourists. In Southeast Asia, there are many sea and island tourism products, but Phu Quoc is very attractive to Chinese tourists.
According to Mr. Ha Tuan Minh, Director of Vietnam Winner Phu Quoc International Travel Company Limited, the promotional clips promoting the beauty of Phu Quoc on Chinese social networks have brought about a very positive effect. In June-July 2025, the company will welcome more than 1,000 Chinese tourists to Phu Quoc for sightseeing and tourism.
Phu Quoc City Party Secretary Le Quoc Anh said that over the years, Phu Quoc has gradually affirmed its position as the most vibrant tourism development location in the country. If in 2014, Phu Quoc did not have a 5-star hotel and only welcomed about 586,000 visitors, by 2024, this number had increased to nearly 6 million visitors, of which international visitors reached nearly 1 million.
This strong development is not only a testament to the attractiveness of Phu Quoc but also demonstrates the right direction of the locality, the great contribution of investors and the business community.
