Building Nga Thang to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming an advanced new-style rural commune by 2030

Highlights

Nga Thang commune was established on the basis of merging 4 communes of the old Nga Son district, including: Nga Van, Nga Thang, Nga Phuong and Nga Thach. The commune party committee has 1,503 party members operating in 51 grassroots party organizations. Promoting the revolutionary tradition where the first Communist Party cell of Nga Son district was established; the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, the will to rise up and seize opportunities, in the 2020-2025 term, local party committees have taken advantage of the support of superiors, the coordination of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio -political organizations and the trust and consensus of the business community and the people, leading and directing the implementation of many key programs, breakthroughs and achieving comprehensive results. The growth rate of production value (GRDP) in the 2020-2025 period reached 7.5 - 8.5%. The total income of the whole commune in 2025 is estimated at 2,033.4 billion VND. Average income per capita in 2025 is estimated at 76.6 million VND.

In agricultural production, Nga Thang commune has implemented synchronous production support policies such as land accumulation and concentration; support for seeds, techniques, loans and product consumption. At the same time, farmers are encouraged to develop integrated farm and family production models; expand the production area of greenhouses, net houses, and production areas of high-value commodity crops such as cantaloupe, melon, potatoes, and chili for export; gradually convert inefficient rice production areas to combined rice-fish and rice-shrimp production models; expand production areas according to VietGAP and organic standards; form and expand concentrated production areas associated with product consumption linkages between farmers - cooperatives - enterprises. During the term, the whole commune has accumulated over 142 hectares of land, including 9.6 hectares of greenhouses and net houses for high-tech agricultural production, 2 hectares of safe vegetable cultivation according to VietGAP standards, bringing the average income value per hectare of cultivated land in the whole commune in 2024 to 193 million VND/year.

In particular, economic development associated with building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas has truly changed the appearance of Nga Thang countryside with bright - green - clean - beautiful works, infrastructure, landscapes; spacious and modern cultural villages, contributing to building a livable countryside. In that roadmap, old communes such as Nga Van and Nga Thang achieved 13/19 criteria for advanced new rural areas; Nga Thach commune achieved 11/19 criteria for advanced new rural areas; Nga Phuong commune achieved 9/19 criteria for advanced new rural areas, with 1 village meeting the model new rural standards...

The production value of industry, handicrafts and trade services in 2025 will reach about 1,513.2 billion VND, an increase of 713.2 billion VND compared to 2020. The average growth rate in the 2020-2025 period is estimated at 5.6%/year. By the end of 2024, there will be 50 enterprises operating in the commune, mainly in the fields of trade, services and construction; the average revenue will reach about 1.7 billion VND/enterprise/year. The total social investment capital in the commune in the 2020-2025 period is estimated at 489.5 billion VND, focusing on investment in building essential infrastructure...

The merger of administrative units has created a large new space, along with other resources and favorable conditions and inherited the achievements in socio-economic development, new rural construction, especially the strength of solidarity within the Party and consensus among the people, so that Nga Thang commune can effectively exploit its potential and advantages and make a breakthrough.

With the motto "Solidarity - Responsibility - Creativity - Development", for the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of the commune sets out 24 main targets on economy, culture - society, environment, security and order, and Party building; 5 key tasks are: Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party and political system. Directing the development of a general planning for the commune, to be completed in 2026. Developing agriculture towards commodity production, applying high technology, associated with advanced new rural construction. Calling for investment in developing industry, handicrafts, services, trade and promoting administrative reform.

To implement the above targets and tasks, the Party Committee of the commune has proposed key solutions for each target and task; in which, priority is given to breakthrough and key solutions in each field. In economic development, continue to lead and direct the implementation of plans and mechanisms on socio-economic development. Promote economic restructuring, develop agriculture towards commodity production, apply high technology associated with advanced rural construction and model rural areas.
