Building new rural areas associated with developing rural tourism, Quang Ngai expects this

The Provincial People's Committee issued the Plan to implement the Rural Tourism Development Program in New Rural Area Construction in 2024 in Quang Ngai province on the basis of implementing Decision No. 922/QD-TTg dated August 2, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Rural Tourism Development Program in New Rural Area Construction in the period of 2021-2025, Plan No. 32/KH-UBND dated February 20, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Rural Tourism Development Program in New Rural Area Construction in the period of 2021-2025....

Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee said: "The rural tourism development program in building new rural areas is implemented with the aim of developing rural tourism based on traditional cultural values, landscape environment of rural areas of Quang Ngai province, aiming to change the mindset of agricultural production to agricultural economic development, contributing to the effective and sustainable implementation of new rural criteria.

The program will increase the attraction of social resources, especially from the private sector and active participation from local communities to invest in rural tourism development; build and develop advantageous tourism products, goods and services; contribute to shifting the rural economic structure, creating on-site jobs, increasing income for local workers...".

Accordingly, the Plan is implemented closely following the content of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the 2021-2025 period and in accordance with the actual conditions of each locality.

In particular, rural tourism development activities must be associated with the preservation and promotion of historical values, traditional culture, craft villages, agricultural activities, and typical ecological environments, associated with digital transformation, and must be based on tourism products (tangible and intangible) to create added economic value.

In 2024, Quang Ngai province aims to build and develop destinations and form rural tourism products; each district, town and city strives to build 10 rural tourism models associated with the advantages of agriculture, culture, craft villages... of the locality.

The province will focus on developing outstanding rural tourism spots and models such as: Agricultural and rural community tourism in Cay Gao hamlet associated with promoting the value of historical and cultural relics at the Prime Minister Pham Van Dong Memorial Site (Mo Duc district); Ca Ninh water coconut forest (Binh Phuoc commune); Bau Ca Cai community eco-tourism with mangrove forests, seaweed ecosystems... (Binh Son district); Binh Thanh community tourism village (Nghia Hanh district)....

By 2024, Quang Ngai strives to have at least 1 rural community tourism destination (agricultural tourism, community tourism, craft village tourism...) in the direction of green, responsible and sustainable tourism recognized; forming a specific rural tourism chain model with the participation of community entities....

"To implement the objectives of the Plan, Quang Ngai province will promote propaganda, training, raise awareness and quality of rural tourism human resources; survey and evaluate the current status of rural tourism in the province to serve the planning and management of rural tourism models associated with building new rural areas; promote the digital transformation process, towards building smart rural tourism; perfect mechanisms and policies for rural tourism development; strengthen the promotion of rural tourism...", said Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee.
