See paintings of late artist Cong Quoc Ha and Zen master Phap Hanh

The paintings are being displayed at Disa Cultural Space (Almaz Vinhomes Riverside, Hanoi ), part of the Disa Cultural Week taking place from now until April 24 to celebrate Vietnam Heritage Day (April 18), open to the public free of charge.

The Streets of the Open Door Era, the Last Thoughts of Cong Quoc Ha

The paintings were selected under the theme “Vietnam - Country of Love”, which is also the theme of the Disa Cultural Project, of which Disa Cultural Week is one of the project's activities.

The works use a variety of materials such as acrylic, oil and lacquer, and have in common the profound humanistic spirit. Among the 20 paintings by artist Cong Quoc Ha, there are two special works: Hanoi Autumn Street and Street of the Open Door.

Ms. Hoang Anh, daughter of painter Cong Quoc Ha, said that her father created the painting "The Street in the Open Time" during the last period of his life when he returned to Vietnam and witnessed the constant changes of the capital Hanoi, including the old quarter where he was born and loved.

The painting lingers on thoughts about the changes of the flow of life and the streets.

The painting Autumn Streets of Hanoi is typical of the street-themed works of artist Cong Quoc Ha, containing many emotions about Hanoi's old streets, with bright colors, painted on a large scale.

100 abstract paintings by Zen master Phap Hanh (real name Nguyen Quang Thinh) bring a powerful source of love, like the source of great nature.

Zen Master Phap Hanh was born in 1965 in Thua Thien Hue . He is a freelance painter and has many abstract oil paintings.

Love is the cultural heritage of Vietnam

The painting exhibition is an activity of the Disa Cultural Project with the theme “Vietnam - Country of Love”.

The project aims to build a sustainable cultural ecosystem, connecting art, painting and community through exhibitions, workshops, art events, cultural products and community programs.

There will be exchanges and discussions on art, music performances, a painting contest with the theme “Vietnam - Country of Love”, a performance honoring Ao Dai…

“The project not only aims to preserve heritage but also wants to create new values, turning love into a cultural symbol of Vietnam in the era of globalization. Love is a cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people,” said Mr. Ha Thuy Thanh, project manager and author of the book Love.
