Viet Hung recreates brocade with handmade crochet art

With over 20 years of pursuing fashion , designer Viet Hung has designed tens of thousands of costumes from brocade materials, so he understands their characteristics very well.

With the desire to create new materials, Viet Hung decided to crochet wool by hand to make unique designs that are not available anywhere else but still have the characteristic colors of brocade.

He shared with Tuoi Tre Online : "The Tay Nguyen Colors collection was inspired by the brocade fabric of the Ede ethnic group. Hung recreated them using the art of handmade crochet.

The characteristics of brocade such as color and pattern are retained by Hung. In which, the three colors black, red and white are crocheted into many patterns and designs, all of which are unique.

The Tay Nguyen Colors collection has more than 30 designs for men and women, mainly performance costumes. Designer Viet Hung also cleverly incorporates cultural features of the Kinh and Ede ethnic groups into the design.

Viet Hung confided that sometimes he imagined himself as an Ede ethnic, sitting in the middle of the mountains and forests, freely creating designs close to the lives of the people of the Central Highlands.

Miss Tieu Vy performed as vedette instead of Miss Charm 2024 at minute 89. Previously, Miss Charm 2024 Rashmita Rasindran agreed to perform but suddenly asked to be absent due to force majeure.

Miss Tieu Vy took on the role of vedette. The top 3 Miss Vietnam 2024 Kieu Duy, Phuong Thanh and Cam Ly performed the opening act.

Also participating in the show of this collection are runner-up Hong Hanh, models Le Nam, Ngoc Trang, Dieu Thao, Bolo Nguyen, Hoai Sa, Tuong San, Tran Quan, Mym Tran... and MC Quynh Hoa.

The Tay Nguyen Colors collection was presented within the framework of the Vietnam brocade fashion show with the theme "Colors of the Highlands" that recently took place in Dak Lak .

MC Quynh Hoa said she was quite excited to wear the traditional crochet design.
