The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1730/QD-UBND dated September 11, 2023 on ranking the historical relic at the provincial level for the historical relic of Cu Djre Pass Victory Site, Ea Ral commune, Ea H'leo district.
Cu Djre Pass is located in Ea Ral Commune (Ea H'leo District), a location on National Highway 14 between Pleiku City ( Gia Lai ) and Buon Ma Thuot City; the pass road is more than 3km long, winding between high mountains and deep abysses. With its rugged terrain and strategic importance, during the resistance war against France, our army and people established defensive lines to prevent enemy troops from attacking the Northern Central Highlands and the coastal provinces of Central Vietnam in early 1946.

In July 1954, also at Cu Djre Pass, our army organized an ambush and annihilated all French troops retreating from Pleiku to Buon Ma Thuot, creating favorable conditions for our army and people to defeat the French invaders, completely liberating Dak Lak and the Central Highlands in 1954, contributing to the whole country's proactive end of the resistance war against France when the Geneva Agreement was signed.
To pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed at the Cu Djre Pass battlefield during the resistance war against the French, typically the ambush of the French troops retreating from Pleiku to Buon Ma Thuot on July 17, 1954, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Ea H'leo district built the Cu Djre Pass Martyrs Memorial. This is considered a work of art with high aesthetic value, containing the heroic and indomitable spirit of the soldiers who fought bravely to protect every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland.
The ranking of the historical relic at the provincial level for the historical relic of the Cu Djre Pass Victory Site, Ea Ral Commune, Ea H'leo District has great significance; toeducate the younger generations about the tradition of fighting against foreign invaders of their ancestors; at the same time, combined with the historical relic of the Command Headquarters - the place where the Decision to establish the 3rd Army Corps was announced and other scenic spots and tourist attractions of Ea H'leo District such as Thuy Tung Garden Conservation Area (Ea Ral Commune), Ngoc Phung Eco-tourism Area in Ea Drang Town, wind power areas... to develop tourism.
