According to Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nong Thi Ha, the above results have created motivation, inspiration and a vibrant competitive atmosphere at all levels, sectors, localities, business communities and people.

It also confirms that: “We are really entering the sprint phase towards the finish line.”

21 provinces have no more temporary or dilapidated houses.

Deputy Minister Nong Thi Ha said that with the determination to soon realize the desire to bring warm homes to the poor and disadvantaged and to realize the policy in Resolution 42 of the Party, in 2024, the Prime Minister has resolutely directed and launched an emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025.

Since the program was launched, the country has supported more than 125,000 houses for poor and near-poor households; more than 26,300 houses for households with meritorious services and more than 51,400 houses from national target programs.

To achieve the above results, Ms. Ha said that recently, many organizations and localities have had creative approaches and provided very practical and effective support in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

For example, the banking industry, with its determination to accompany the Government to effectively implement the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, immediately after the Prime Minister launched it, the industry committed to supporting 1,300 billion VND and specifically assigned each bank to support localities. Up to now, the banking industry has also transferred about 1,200 billion VND to localities...

The military also identified the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses as a task, a political responsibility and a sentiment of the Party Committee, commanders at all levels as well as officers and soldiers, thereby strengthening the relationship between the army and the people. To date, the military has contributed over 600 billion VND and mobilized over 21,000 officers and soldiers with over 76,500 working days to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.

Localities have also had creative, rapid, flexible, and innovative ways to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. As of June 9, 2025, a total of 21/63 localities nationwide have no more temporary or dilapidated houses.

For example, Binh Dinh province, with its proactive approach in solving housing problems for households living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses and households lacking land, within 3 months, the province has completed the elimination of all 4,411 houses for households in the area.

In recent times, Ha Tinh province has also made a special mark in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. One of the highlights is the implementation of "sponsorship" assignment models such as: Non-uniform construction teams, each cadre in charge of a house, support by area... Thereby, the locality has highly promoted the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and party members and widely spread the spirit of sharing and mutual love in the community.

Or like Son La, although it is a locality in a very difficult area, the province has focused on mobilizing all forces with practical and effective activities, assigning cadres and party members to be in charge of each household, helping each village, each locality, each area. Up to now, Son La has completed the elimination of temporary houses and dilapidated houses with a total of 2,544 houses that have been eliminated since April 2024.

Sprint towards the finish line

With clear determination and methodical implementation of steps from the Central to each locality, especially the positive results achieved, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nong Thi Ha assessed that the spirit of "eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" is rising and the whole country is truly entering the sprint stage towards the finish line.

Sharing more about the favorable factors, Ms. Ha said that an important reason to strengthen confidence is that we have identified and found solutions to remove the two biggest bottlenecks in the implementation process, which are funding and land.

Up to now, over 90% of the funds have been transferred as committed, the remaining units are still completing the payment procedures. Regarding land, right at the first meeting of the Central Steering Committee, the Prime Minister directed strongly and agreed on the policy of flexible settlement in locations without disputes. Through practical experiences from localities such as Binh Phuoc and some localities with difficulties in residential land, there have been many valuable lessons that can be applied and implemented. Therefore, the two biggest "bottlenecks" can be deployed and resolved.

In general, according to Ms. Ha, the policy is in place, the Government has given thorough direction, the entire political system has taken action, the people agree and the people expect it.

“With that foundation, we have every reason to believe in achieving the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses,” Ms. Ha emphasized.

Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of Nghe An province on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, also expressed her belief that the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses will be successful.

Ms. Sinh emphasized that with the wise leadership of the Party, the strong direction of the Government and the participation of the entire political system as well as of all classes of people, together with the strength of national unity, the tradition of patriotism, love for the nation and compatriots, comradeship, and nationalism, with the motto of "State support, community assistance, people's initiative," the project will certainly reach the finish line on time.

“Certainly the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses will be a program that will forever touch people's hearts and be a program that sows seeds of love, nurtures hope, reaps faith and creates a future for all classes of people,” emphasized the Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.

In particular, recently, the Prime Minister also issued Official Dispatch No. 84/CD-TTg dated June 8, 2025 to Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies; Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in provinces and centrally run cities, requesting to focus on completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31, 2025.

The telegram stated: To continue promoting the achieved results; practically celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Prime Minister requested Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies, Heads of Steering Committees for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in provinces and centrally run cities to focus on leading, directing and organizing the implementation more drastically, more quickly, and more effectively of the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025."

In particular, in implementation, the Prime Minister requested to ensure "6 clear: clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear authority, clear time, clear results" and "4 truths: Speak the truth, do the truth, be effective, and benefit the people"./.
