In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates offered flowers and incense, respectfully commemorating the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, and are resting at the Martyrs Cemetery of Hill 82 ( Tay Ninh province).
Colonel Thai Thanh Duc, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Military Region, Deputy Head of the 515 Steering Committee of Military Region 7, said that implementing Decision No. 2172/QD-QK dated October 8, 2025 of the Commander of the Military Region on the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during the war and bringing them back to the country, phase XXV (dry season 2025-2026), the 515 Steering Committees of Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces have directed the Military Commands of the provinces and the K Teams of Military Region 7 to urgently deploy related procedures and do a good job of preparing to carry out the mission in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Up to now, the officers and soldiers of the K Teams are ready and qualified to carry out their missions in Cambodia. The Provincial Steering Committee 515 has discussed and agreed with the Specialized Committees of the provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia in coordinating the protection, guidance and support of the K Teams of the Military Region.
Through surveying information from many sources, the total number of martyrs' graves expected to be searched and gathered in phase XXV (dry season 2025-2026) is 825 graves in 10 provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Of which, Team K70 (under the Steering Committee 515 of Tay Ninh province) consisting of 40 comrades will survey and search for 95 martyrs' graves in Kampong Cham and Tboung Khmum provinces; Team K71 (under the Military Command of Tay Ninh province) consisting of 50 comrades will survey and search for 172 martyrs' graves in Seam Reap, Banteay Meanchey and Otdar Meanchey provinces.
Team K72 (under the Military Command of Dong Nai Province) consisting of 50 comrades will survey and search for 482 martyrs' graves in Kratie and Kampong Thom provinces. Team K73 (under the Military Command of Tay Ninh Province) consisting of 45 comrades will survey and search for 76 martyrs' graves in Prey Veng, Battambang and Pailin provinces.
Speaking at the ceremony to send off troops and assign tasks, Major General Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 7, requested that units promote a sense of responsibility and synchronously and effectively deploy the work of searching for and gathering martyrs.
The K teams need to be proactive, flexible, creative, carefully review each area, process information accurately, and ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles. The goal is to basically complete the collection of areas with information on martyrs' graves by 2030 and continue to deploy until there are no more new sources of information.
The Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command and relevant units proactively advised local Party committees and authorities to closely lead and direct coordination work; strengthen propaganda and mobilize people, especially pagodas, landowners and people who participated in combat coordination, to provide more information about the martyrs' burial places.
The teams strictly complied with Cambodian laws, promoted solidarity, performed well in defense and public relations, and contributed to further tightening the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.
The Military Region's leaders emphasized the need to care for the material and spiritual lives, ensure health and policies for officers and soldiers throughout the performance of their duties.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Tran Chi Cong, Captain of Team K73, said that each relic returned from the ground is a sacred part of the Fatherland, contributing to easing the pain and loss of the relatives of heroic martyrs, adding pride and strength to today's generations.
With deep affection and gratitude, the K Teams pledge to devote all their spirit and responsibility, with orders from their hearts, to strive to fulfill all assigned tasks, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, Army and people.
At the ceremony, Military Region 7 awarded Certificates of Merit to groups and individuals of 4 teams K70, K71, K72, K73 for their outstanding achievements in phase XXIV (dry season 2024-2025). National Steering Committee 515, Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 7 and local authorities presented gifts and encouraged the officers and soldiers before their departure.
Immediately after the ceremony, a large number of delegates, officers, soldiers and people of Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces saw off teams K70, K71, K72, K73 through Xa Mat International Border Gate (Tay Ninh) to Cambodia to carry out their mission.
Representatives of the Specialized Committees and people of neighboring provinces were also present to welcome and receive the working teams assigned to their tasks in Cambodia./.
