(HG) - According to statistics from the agricultural sector of Vi Thuy district, farmers have sown more than 40 hectares of the 2023-2024 winter-spring rice crop, with the RVT variety, mainly in Vi Dong commune.

According to the winter-spring rice planting schedule, the rice planting season is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1, from November 21 to 27. Phase 2, from December 19 to 25. Currently, farmers in Vi Thuy district continue to pump water, clean the fields, prepare the soil, and prepare to plant the main rice crop of the year. The district's agricultural sector recommends that farmers need to plant concentratedly and simultaneously in each field according to the "avoiding planthopper" schedule to limit the transmission of brown planthoppers to yellow dwarf - stunted leaf disease, cultivate according to the methods of "3 reductions, 3 increases", "1 must, 5 reductions", use certified rice seeds or higher, sow sparsely, sow in rows, with the amount of seeds from 80-100 kg/ha or transplant with the amount of seeds from 50-60 kg/ha.

It is expected that this winter-spring rice crop, Vi Thuy district will plant 17,000 hectares.
