The price increase focused on essential groups such as: medicine and medical services increased by 14.46% due to the adjustment of the price frame for medical examination and treatment according to the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council; housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 4.80%, of which the price of household electricity increased by 13.14%; food and catering services increased by 3.93% due to a nearly 20% increase in pork prices due to African swine fever causing a shortage in supply.
In addition, gold and USD prices also fluctuated greatly. Domestic gold prices increased by 9.76% during the month, bringing the selling price of 9999 gold to about VND11.48 million/tael. USD prices also increased by 0.35% compared to the previous month.
On the other hand, theeducation group decreased by 4.86% thanks to the tuition support policy for public preschool and primary school students. The transportation group decreased by 3.89% thanks to the decrease in gasoline prices following the world market.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, price pressure will still be latent, especially in the public service and energy groups. Functional sectors need to continue to closely monitor price developments to proactively stabilize the market and control local inflation.
