On the afternoon of June 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a national online conference to review the work in the first 6 months of 2025 and summarize the peak period of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Attending the Conference at Yen Bai bridge point were comrade Ngo Hanh Phuc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

In the first 6 months of 2025, ministries, branches and localities have thoroughly grasped and urgently, seriously and effectively implemented Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg, Directive No. 13/CT-TTg and the directions of the Prime Minister , Head of the National Steering Committee 389 on launching a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights with the spirit of 6 clear: "Clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear authority, clear products"; creating strong changes in awareness and actions of people, businesses and agencies, units and functional forces in the fight against and handling cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights with the motto "handling one case, alerting the whole region, the whole field", "no forbidden zones, no exceptions".

The results have discovered, fought, and destroyed many organizations, networks, gangs, and subjects of smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods, prohibited goods, production and trading of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and infringement of intellectual property rights on a large scale, operating inter-provincially, contributing to protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of people and businesses, and protecting security and health safety for people.

In the first 6 months of 2025, units and localities arrested and handled more than 50,000 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and tax fraud; collected more than 6,500 billion VND for the state budget; prosecuted nearly 1,900 cases with over 3,200 defendants.

In the peak month alone, units and localities arrested and handled more than 10,400 cases of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (an increase of 80.51% compared to the previous peak month); collected nearly 1,300 billion VND for the state budget (an increase of 258.43% compared to the previous peak month); temporarily detained goods and exhibits worth an estimated over 4,075 billion VND (not including the temporarily detained goods of drugs, banned goods, counterfeit goods); prosecuted more than 200 cases with 378 defendants...

According to statistics, more than 5,500 stores nationwide have closed or temporarily suspended operations to wait for an opportunity. Units and localities with outstanding achievements include: the Department of Economic Investigation, Corruption, and Smuggling, the Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Cao Bang, Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Soc Trang , Bac Lieu...

In Yen Bai province, in the first 6 months of the year, implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Steering Committee 389, the member branches of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 have actively deployed the work of management, monitoring, reconnaissance, and grasping the area; stepped up market inspection and control activities; proactively coordinated the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the whole province. In the first 6 months of the year, the Yen Bai Provincial Steering Committee 389 handled 255 cases, administratively fined over 3.4 billion VND; total revenue to the state budget was over 5.3 billion VND. During the peak period from May 15, 2025 to June 15, 2025, the member branches of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 handled 83 cases, administratively fined over 770 million VND; money collected from illegal profits, tax arrears of 480 million VND...
