Posting false information about General Le Van Duyet is a violation of the Cyber ​​Security Law.

At a press conference on the socio -economic situation in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of October 16, the Department of Culture and Information of Ho Chi Minh City informed about this incident. According to the Department, the posting of false information about Left General Le Van Duyet is being criticized by society, and this behavior is considered an insult to famous people and national heroes, violating prohibited acts stipulated in the Law on Cyber ​​Security.

"In order to prevent and handle content on social networks that violate the provisions of the above law, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City issued Official Dispatch No. 4906/SVHTT-TTDT dated October 8, 2025 on preventing and handling content on social networks that violate the provisions of the law to the Department of Cyber ​​Security and Prevention of High-Tech Crime ( Ministry of Public Security ) and the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to support, verify and handle according to the provisions of the law the subject posting false information about Ta Quan Le Van Duyet", said the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to historical documents, General Le Van Duyet was one of the outstanding generals under the Gia Long - Minh Mang dynasty, famous for his open-minded thinking, respect for talented people and acceptance of cultural diversity. He made great contributions to protecting the rights of migrants.

After his death, there was a period when he was convicted and banned from worship. It was not until 1849 that King Tu Duc issued an edict to clear his name, restore his honor, and allow the tomb to be restored and a temple to be built.

Since then, the worship of Ta Quan has been formalized and preserved through many generations. The death anniversary of Ta Quan Le Van Duyet takes place at the end of July and the beginning of August of the lunar calendar every year. This is one of the typical cultural and religious events of ancient Saigon - Gia Dinh until today.

In order to promote the heroic tradition of the ancient Gia Dinh land, to properly evaluate the merits and talents of General Le Van Duyet for the land of Saigon - Gia Dinh as well as in expanding the country's territory. At the 20th session of the 9th term on July 11, 2020, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City issued Resolution No. 26 on supplementing the Street Name Fund and renaming Dinh Tien Hoang Street (section from Cau Bong to Phan Dang Luu Street in Binh Thanh District (old), now Gia Dinh Ward) to Le Van Duyet Street.

Ho Chi Minh City has also recognized General Le Van Duyet through the construction of the historical and cultural relic site of General Le Van Duyet's Tomb (Ong - Ba Chieu Tomb), a national historical and cultural relic in Gia Dinh ward (old Binh Thanh district).
