This result helped coach Mai Duc Chung and his team become the first team in SEA Games history to win the women's football gold medal for 4 consecutive times. This is also the 8th time that the Vietnamese women's football team has won the title at the Games.
After the 32nd SEA Games women's football final, the ASEAN Football fan forum posted many congratulations from Asian fans for the Vietnamese women's team. Asian fans praised: "The Vietnamese women's team is amazing! See you at the 2023 World Cup".

Yesterday, wrestling recorded the biggest success of the day for the Vietnamese delegation when they won all 6 events. Kickboxing with 2 gold medals and stick fighting with 1 gold medal also contributed to the overall success of the delegation.
Judo and taekwondo - two Olympic martial arts - brought home 5 gold medals. Specifically, martial artists Nguyen Nhac Nhu An (44kg women), Hoang Thi Tinh (48kg women), Le Anh Tai (90kg men), Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (52kg women) helped the Vietnamese judo team win 4 more gold medals, bringing the total from the beginning of the tournament to 7 gold medals. Taekwondo recorded the victory of male martial artist Pham Dang Quang over Thai opponent Sritimongkol in the final of the 63kg weight class.
Today, May 16, is the final competition day of the 32nd SEA Games. The Vietnamese sports delegation will compete in 10 sports. We are sure to secure the top spot in the medal tally at the 32nd SEA Games, completing a brilliant event in Cambodia.
