Ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Dak Pxi commune as meeting new rural standards
Dak Pxi commune was established in 1972, with a natural area of over 26,500 hectares and a population of 5,700 people, of which 91% are ethnic minorities.
In the early days of its establishment, the commune's starting point was still low, the socio -economic infrastructure system was lacking and not yet synchronized. Meanwhile, the natural conditions were harsh, agricultural production was purely dependent on the weather. The mountainous terrain was uneven and not contiguous, making it very difficult to build and plan large-scale fields. The most difficult thing was the application of machinery to agriculture for cultivation.
On the other hand, a part of the people still have the mentality of waiting and relying on the investment and support of the State. The intellectual level of the people is still low, and vocational training associated with job creation still has many shortcomings. Therefore, after many years of establishment, Dak Pxi is still a particularly difficult commune.
The hilly, uneven terrain creates difficulties in local economic development.
In 2014, realizing the importance of building new rural areas, Dak Pxi commune established a steering committee to advise on the development of plans and specify the contents of the resolution to implement the set of criteria. At the same time, it focused on mobilizing social resources and integrating programs and projects to invest in building infrastructure to serve production and people's lives.
Dak Pxi Commune People's Committee also launched a movement to join hands in building new rural areas, calling on organizations, businesses and individuals to actively participate in supporting the construction of new rural areas. After 10 years, with the determination and efforts of the entire political system, the commune has now met 19/19 criteria for new rural areas.
Of which, 100% of roads are asphalted or concreted to ensure car traffic; 92% of total irrigation canals in the commune are solidified; 78% of houses are solidified; 100% of households use regular electricity; 100% of schools meet level 1 infrastructure standards; over 75% of students graduate from junior high school; over 73% of workers have been trained; 100% of people participate in health insurance...
After 10 years of efforts and struggles, Dak Pxi commune has been recognized as meeting new rural standards.
"With the efforts and struggles of the Party Committee, the government, mass organizations from the commune to the village and all classes of people in the area, up to now, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province has recognized Dak Pxi as a commune that meets the new rural standards. This is the effort and determination of the commune in implementing synchronously, focusing on key points with many dynamic and creative ways suitable to the actual conditions of the locality", said Mr. Ha Duc My, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Pxi commune.
