1. The 10th Conference of Party Newspapers of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands - Central region (round 4)

From April 21 to 23, 2023, in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Newspaper hosted the 10th Conference of Party Newspapers of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands - Central region (round 4) with the theme "Party Newspaper with propaganda to protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" with the participation of nearly 400 delegates who are leaders, reporters, and editors from 42 Party Newspaper agencies of provinces and cities in the region and the whole country.

The presentations at the workshop shared many good, creative and effective ways of doing things, and at the same time proposed solutions to improve the quality of propaganda to protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation.

This is an event of great significance for the propaganda work of the Party Newspaper in the context of the world's political instability, hostile forces trying to sabotage the revolutionary cause of our Party, State and People, especially in cyberspace.

2. Vietnam Cultural - Culinary Festival 2023: "National Soul - Homeland Taste"

From April 28 to 30, at Cua Viet Tourist Service Area Square, Gio Linh District, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province organized the 2023 Vietnamese Cultural - Culinary Festival with the theme "National Soul - Homeland Taste".

The festival featured 9 professional chefs and artists; 74 units from all over the country with 84 booths. In addition, the culinary space introduced more than 500 dishes and drinks with domestic and foreign culinary styles. The festival attracted more than 10,000 visitors per day, 6 times higher than expected.

This is an opportunity for Quang Tri province and other provinces and cities to introduce and promote their unique culinary cultural values; at the same time, it is an opportunity to promote the cultural values, potentials and strengths of the land and people of Quang Tri to domestic and foreign tourists.

3. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in Quang Tri

On the evening of June 10, at the National Historical Site of the Headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in Cam Lo district, the Government Office in coordination with Quang Tri province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam.

50 years ago, right after the Paris Agreement was signed, the Politburo decided to move the headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam from Tay Ninh to Quang Tri - the first province in the South to be liberated. Cam Lo was honored to be chosen as the location of the headquarters.

The 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in Quang Tri aims to affirm the role, significance and importance of this event; review the heroic historical tradition of the nation's struggle, and contribute to educating patriotism for generations of Vietnamese people.

4. Solemnly organize the 55th Anniversary of Khe Sanh Victory Day - Liberation of Huong Hoa

On the evening of July 7, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Huong Hoa district solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Khe Sanh Victory - Liberation of Huong Hoa on July 9 (1968 - 2023).

Implementing the Resolution of the Politburo and the order of the Central Military Commission "On carrying out a general offensive and uprising simultaneously throughout the South in the spring and summer of 1968", in which the destruction of the Khe Sanh stronghold was the decisive blow in the overall strategy of the attack. On January 20, 1968, the Route 9 - Khe Sanh Campaign began. On July 9, our army occupied the Ta Con stronghold and liberated Huong Hoa, contributing to creating a turning point of decisive significance in the resistance war against the US to save the country of our people.

Previously, from July 3 to 5, at Khe Sanh Town Stadium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Huong Hoa District to organize the mass art festival "The green forest echoes with the sound of Ta Lu" with the participation of more than 300 actors and musicians from 9 districts, towns and cities in the province.

5. “Meeting Thailand” - Opening up cooperation opportunities between the two countries in various fields

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam - Thailand strategic partnership (2013-2023), the 47th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Thailand diplomatic relations (1976-2023), on the morning of August 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai Embassy in Vietnam coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize the "Meet Thailand" conference. The conference received the attention and participation of more than 400 delegates from both the public and private sectors of Thailand and Vietnam.

The first “Meet Thailand” conference held in Vietnam and hosted in Quang Tri province is an opportunity to promote and promote investment of leading Thai businesses and investors in Vietnam and Quang Tri province.

Within the framework of the “Meeting Thailand” Conference, the same morning, in Dong Ha City, the opening ceremony of the Vietnam - Thailand Typical Product Exhibition Space with 40 booths took place. In addition to the exhibition space, the Quang Tri Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center also coordinated with the Thailand Trade Promotion Agency, VINEXAD Advertising and Trade Fair Joint Stock Company (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to implement a trade program with 12 Thai enterprises operating in the food and beverage sector in direct and online forms.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 3, in Dong Ha City, the program "Connecting Quang Tri - Thailand" took place with the theme: "Quang Tri - Thailand's convergence and development cooperation point on the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC)".

6. Program "Lighting the flame of gratitude" and "Lighting up the lights at sea with fishermen"

On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27 (1947 - 2023), on July 19 and 20, the Vietnam Journalists Association organized gratitude activities within the framework of the "Lighting the Flame of Gratitude" program in Quang Tri province.

In the series of activities of the program, the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association and representatives of sponsoring units presented 68 gifts to veteran journalists, veteran journalists, relatives of martyrs, journalists who are children of war invalids and martyrs; 7 houses of gratitude, love, and great solidarity; gifts for the poor; breeding cows for families of former Youth Volunteers and war invalids; 150 bicycles, hundreds of scholarships and tablets for poor students; 500 million VND to build classrooms in highland areas... The budget for implementing gratitude activities of the program "Lighting the Flame of Gratitude" in Quang Tri in 2023 is about more than 3 billion VND.

On the afternoon of July 20, in Cua Viet town, Gio Linh district, Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize the program "Lighting up the lights at sea with fishermen". Through specific and practical activities, the Organizing Committee of the program "Lighting up the lights at sea with fishermen" hopes to contribute to raising fishermen's awareness of law compliance when fishing at sea. At the same time, it is a bridge for the social community to join hands to support fishermen to stay at sea with peace of mind, affirming and preserving the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

7. Solemnly organized the 50th anniversary celebration of Cuban President Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone of South Vietnam in Quang Tri

On the afternoon of September 26, in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam to solemnly organize the 50th Anniversary of Cuban President Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone of Southern Vietnam in Quang Tri (September 1973 - September 2023). The event was attended by high-ranking leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam and Cuba.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez expressed his gratitude for the solidarity that Vietnam has maintained up to now, as well as during these very difficult times for Cuba. He also affirmed that Cuba will preserve for present and future generations the tradition of solidarity and brotherhood of each country.

On this occasion, Vietnam News Agency coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and the Latin American News Agency (Prensa Latina) of Cuba to organize a photo exhibition entitled: "Forever loyal Vietnam - Cuba love". The Central Youth Union presided over and coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize an exhibition of children's paintings and award prizes for the painting contest "Vietnamese - Cuban children in solidarity".

8. Successfully complete the task of the Provincial Defense and Civil Defense Exercise in 2023

From October 10 to 12, the Military Region 4 Exercise Steering Committee organized the 2023 Quang Tri Province Defense and Civil Defense Area Exercise.

The drill was organized at 2 levels, including the provincial level and 4 districts and cities. Of which, the defense area drill took place with 14 drill mechanism conferences, 12 live-fire contents; civil defense drill with the conference of the Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of the city and province; live-fire disaster response drill for fire, explosion, collapse of buildings, toxic chemicals.

The exercise was carried out on a large scale, with many components and forces participating (more than 8,500 people; 250 vehicles; 1,100 guns of various types...). The live-fire exercises used a large number of weapons, equipment, ammunition, and modern technical means, such as tanks - armored vehicles, special vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles and took place in many locations.

9. Solemnly organize the 100th anniversary of General Doan Khue's birth

On the afternoon of October 27, in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province coordinated with the Ministry of National Defense to organize a ceremony to celebrate the 100th birthday of General Doan Khue, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of National Defense, October 29 (1923 -2023).

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), General Luong Cuong emphasized: The 100th anniversary of General Doan Khue's birth is an opportunity for us to review his life and glorious revolutionary career, remember a talented and strategic general of the VPA, and pay tribute to and honor the General's outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, nation and army.

Previously, on the morning of October 27, in Dong Ha City, the Ministry of National Defense coordinated with Quang Tri Province to organize a scientific workshop: "General Doan Khue - A staunch communist, an excellent leader and commander of the Vietnam People's Army, an outstanding son of Quang Tri homeland". The workshop was attended by leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, generals of the Vietnam People's Army, and historical witnesses. On the afternoon of October 26, at Village 1, Trieu Lang Commune, Trieu Phong District, the inauguration ceremony of the General Doan Khue Memorial Site was held.

10. Commencement of Quang Tri Industrial Park project and launching of Quang Tri Airport project

On December 15, in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri Development Joint Venture Company Limited coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of Quang Tri Industrial Park project.

Quang Tri Industrial Park Project is invested by Quang Tri Development Joint Venture Company Limited (including 3 joint venture investors: Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company; Amata Bien Hoa Urban Joint Stock Company - Amata Group Thailand and Sumitomo Corporation Japan); scale of 481.2 hectares, implemented in Dien Sanh town and communes: Hai Truong, Hai Lam (Hai Lang district). The project has a total investment of 2,074 billion VND, when put into operation is expected to create jobs for 30,000 - 40,000 workers.

On the same day, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with the T&T Group - CIENCO4 joint venture to organize the launching ceremony of the Quang Tri Airport project. The project is implemented in Gio Quang, Gio Hai and Gio Mai communes, Gio Linh district, with a scale of over 265 hectares, the total investment of 2 phases is 5,833.9 billion VND.
