On the morning of June 3, the Final Jury of the 19th National Press Awards - 2024 held a final round meeting, listened to the report on the results of the preliminary round, discussed, voted and considered awarding the 19th National Press Awards - 2024.
"These must be outstanding works in both content and form of expression, addressing truly important issues of the country, ensuring political ideology, orientation, honesty, having positive and strong social impact, worthy of being awarded the 19th National Press Award - 2024 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day", Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized.
In that spirit, the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association requested that the members of the Final Jury, with the highest sense of responsibility, actively and thoroughly discuss and accurately and impartially evaluate the works in the final round, ensuring their persuasiveness to the public and colleagues nationwide.
The summary report of the preliminary round presented by the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Preliminary Council, stated: This is the first year of implementing the revised National Press Awards Charter. Accordingly, two new genre groups were included in the judging: multimedia journalism and creative journalism.

The preliminary and final councils continued to be inherited and supplemented. The organization of the award was carried out systematically and systematically by the Secretariat, attracting the active and enthusiastic participation of journalists and collaborators nationwide.
Despite many difficulties in the period of summarizing Resolution 18-NQ/TW on restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, central and local press agencies still enthusiastically submitted articles to the Press Awards.
According to the report of the Preliminary Council, the number of works participating in the Press Award reached the highest level ever. The Council's support committees have made efforts to implement the work on schedule, ensuring the requirements of the organization process.
The 74 members of the Preliminary Council, divided into 12 Sub-committees, worked urgently, seriously, closely with professionalism and a high sense of responsibility, strictly implementing the Charter, Guidelines and Judging Regulations, conducting appraisal, scoring and submitting to the Final Council a list of 183 works in 13 award groups, selected from 1,970 submitted works.
Many large Associations and Associations still maintain good quality of works submitted to the Award such as: Association of Journalists of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency , Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Public Security, People's Army Newspaper, Vietnam Farmers' Association, Labor Newspaper, Dan Tri Newspaper, Tien Phong Newspaper, Thanh Nien Newspaper...
Notably, many magazines have invested heavily and have produced many quality works such as Communist Magazine, Information and Communication Magazine, Electronic Magazine of Knowledge, Labor and Trade Union Magazine and Army Literature and Arts Magazine. Many local Journalists Associations have improved the quality of their entries to the Awards such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Da Nang, Vinh Long, Binh Phuoc, etc.
